LUCKY WANTS TO SHARE A FEW FUN CASH REGISTER FACTS WITH YOU.

Did you know???

A good cash register can save you money.

How? Better accountability, better reporting, better tracking. This saves time, and time is money. Time you spend adding receipts, subtracting paid outs, and looking for errant numbers.

Did you know that taking care of your cash register through regular maintenance really does make a difference??

Did you know that some registers require little or no maintenance? Usually when they break you throw them away because they will cost more to repair them than to replace one.

Did you know that if you change the ink roller and run paper in the machine it will last longer?? It's true, it's true, even a small register with a little care, will last longer than a neglected register. It's most important for the machine to have the inker or ribbon changed regularly and paper in both the receipt and journal sides.

Did you know that where you plug your cash register in can kill it or shorten its life span by or more??

Did you know that a surge protector, even small one can help? Small yes cheap no. See how many joules it can handle. The more it can handle the better, but also the more it will cost. It's really what one would call cheap insurance. But remember don't skimp, it WILL only hurt your machine and in the long run cost you money. $20.00 a year for insurance from bad power is worth it isn't it??

Did you know that your best employee is your cash register?? It never asks for a raise, it's never late for work, it doesn't have an opinion, it tells the truth, and it will keep your cash in a relatively safe place.

Did you know that leaving your register unplugged for an extended amount of time can cause the memory battery to drain and corrode the logic board???? (This costs money) You can solve this by keeping the machine plugged in even when not in use. Or have the battery disconnected by a professional. Remember that when you unplug that battery, the machine will no longer remember who or what it is. What I mean by this is that the memory will be gone. Providing that the battery is in good shape you can leave it unplugged safely for a week at the most.

Did you know the main reason that a register is in peril when your store is close???? Most thieves will break into a closed drawer, but if the drawer is left open with no or little cash usually the machine won't be subject to crowbarasitis. (crowbarring the drawer )

Thank you for coming by and listening to my howling about cash registers.  I hope that LCR and I have been able to help you understand your Cash Register's point of view.
