T-Series returns to film
production with ' Lucky - No Time For Love ' that has Sohail Khan
joining hands with the music company biggies Bhushan Kumar and Kishan Kumar for
a joint production. Shot mostly in Russia, ' Lucky ' stars Salman Khan,
who would be looking forward to starting 2005 with a success matching those of '
Garv ' and ' Mujhse Shaadi Karogi ' last year. Directed by
Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, the duo behind number of music video hits on
T-Series like ' Chadti Jawani', 'Kaanta Laga ' and many more, what has
already caught attention in the movie are great locales, rich cinematography,
high production values, sensitive storyline and of course melodious music. Look
of the movie is radically different from those of the videos directed by the duo
earlier and the movie seems to be a directed at the family audiences.
Introducing Sneha Ullal in the lead role, ' Lucky ' also stars Mithun
Chakravorty in an important role. Adnan Sami makes his debut as a solo composer
for an entire film while Sameer writes.
Adnan Sami composes one of the best tunes of 2005 so far in the form of '
Jaan Meri Jaa Rahi Sanam '. Lyrically too the number
is quite impressive and some excellent rendering by the veterans Udit Narayan
and Anuradha Paudwal make the number memorable. Choreography, cinematography and
sets - all boast of high quality and overall the number will definitely go a
long way.
After a highly melodious kick-start, the album progresses in the same zone with
' Sun Zara '. Sonu Nigam is again at his best in
conveying pain of separation through his vocals while the intelligent usage of
musical instruments is praiseworthy. Adnan Sami delivers - and does it in a big
way! The song is couple of steps ahead of the previous song and makes you fall
in love with the tune. Sonu can place this song up there in the list of his best
sung songs!
' Lubov Mix ' of the song ' Sun Zara '
makes an appearance in the vocals of Adnan Sami, that is more of an instrumental
with Adnan in the track primarily for the key words - ' Sun Zara '. A
wonderful mix, that is remarkably far better than the millions of remixes of the
original numbers placed in a regular album, it has excellent musical
arrangements to give the song a rich feel. 'Wow!' is the reaction after one is
through listening to the entire track.
Trust Ashaji for coming up with something surprising each time she comes before
the mike. This time on she renders for a 16 year school girl who is dreaming
about her prince charming to come to her, take her in his arms and kiss her '
Lucky Lips '! Believe it or not but these are the
lyrics of the number. No problems with this as the song is pretty harmless in
totality and the jazzy tune more than gives an innocent childlike feel. An even
better experience comes up as the ' Bolshoi Mix ' of
this youthful number, again by Ashaji. Rhythm is the backbone of the number and
it is five out of five in the album so far.
First routine song of the album comes up as ' Hum Deewane
' that is certainly not a disappointment but still not of a kind that
continues the great feeling from the previous songs. Blame it on the high
expectations set by the initial songs due to which 'Hum Deewane', in spite of
the pacy treatment and the experienced vocals of Anuradha Paudwal and Sonu Nigam,
doesn't impress much!
Fortunately this is an extremely short duration of monotony as '
Chori Chori ' gets the album back in groove before you have
even realized it. Adnan's touch from his numbers in ' Kabhi To Nazar Milao
' and ' Tera Chehra ' are evident from the first note of the song.
Both Sonu Nigam and Alka Yagnik carry off this difficult song particularly well
that has a complex yet entertaining tune by Adnan. The 'wow' effect is back -
and in a style! This number deserves to be on the tube right away!
'Classy' is how one describes the romantic duet ' Shayad Yahi To
Pyar Hai ' by Lataji and Adnan himself. Sameer's lyrics are simple
yet impressive while the tune is smooth, sober, quiet and effective. One of
those kinds where one switches off the lights and listens to the number in a
relaxed mode. A perfect end to a beautiful album!
After some insignificant releases and a few disappointing albums in 2005, the
musical score of ' Lucky - No Time For Love ' is surely going to hit
the bull's eye and bring good luck to Bollywood. If melody is what you look for
in a musical score, 'Lucky - No Time For Love' is the one for you. An ideal
Valentine's gift for your loved ones, this is going to stir your heart!

Narayan and Anuradha Paudwal)
Singer-composer Adnan Sami makes his debut as a full-fledged musician for the
entire film album with this T-Series and Sohail Khan production, ‘Lucky – No
Time For Love’. ‘Jaan Meri Jaa Rahi Sanam’ is one of the finest compositions of
Adnan’s career till date. This romantic duet features Udit Narayan and Anuradha
Paudwal - both inject life in the song. Amongst the instruments, the dholak and
flute make a pleasant fusion. Veteran Sameer writes some captivating lyrics,
which soothe the ears. The awestruck tunes arranged in soft rhythm by Adnan Sami
leave you yearning for more. This is the best musical product of the year 2005
so far and is a memorable song as well.

2) Sun Zara (Sonu Nigam)
It’s time for Sonu Nigam now with ‘Sun Zara’. He conveys the pain of separation
with his delectable voice. In terms of instruments, distinction marks are given
to violin, dholak, dafli and drumbeats amongst the others. Sameer writes the
lyrics with élan and Adnan Sami assembles the tunes brilliantly. This song is
magnum opus in all aspects.

3) Sun Zara – Labov Mix (Adnan
Sami)
‘Sun Zara’ appears again but this time around with Adnan Sami. The track is
basically an instrumental but features Adnan’s voice too in the background
mainly for the words ‘Sun Zara’.

4) Lucky Lips (Asha Bhosle)
Asha Bhosle has been Adnan’s hot favourite since his childhood days and he has
also done albums with her. Not many people know that Adnan and Asha Ji have sung
songs for a Pakistani film, ‘Sargam’ in which Adnan made his film debut as an
actor, composer and a singer but unfortunately before the movie release, Asha
Ji’s vocals were replaced with famous Pakistani pop star, Hadiqa Kiyani due to
some reasons. Adnan joins hands with Asha Ji once again here with this song,
‘Lucky Lips’ which is about a teenager who dreams about her prince charming
coming close to her, taking her in his strong arms and then kissing her lucky
lips. The legendary singer delivers the song with much ease and full enthusiasm.
The number is active lyrically also. A good energetic track for the youngsters.

5) Lucky Lips – Bolshoi Mix (Asha
Bhosle)
Asha Bhosle once again comes up to enthral the listeners with the second version
of ‘Lucky Lips’ that emerges as a Bolshoi Mix this time around on the
soundtrack.

6) Hum Deewane (Sonu Nigam and
Anuradha Paudwal)
Sonu Nigam and Anuradha Paudwal reunite for ‘Hum Deewane’ but sound strictly
okay with no novelty in their renditions! Both Sameer and Adnan appear to be
lacklustre in their works too. This enormously melodious album goes down a level
with this track.

7) Chori Chori (Sonu Nigam and
Alka Yagnik)
‘Chori Chori’ gets things back on track again. Alka Yagnik teams up with Sonu
Nigam to sing an entertaining track. Both the vocalists soar sky high with the
vigorously delivered vocals. Instruments appeal and the lyrics gel well with the
song’s theme too.

8) Shayad Yehi To Pyar Hai (Lata
Mangeshkar and Adnan Sami)
Earlier we heard Adnan singing with Asha Ji, now we have an opportunity to
listen Adnan with Lata Ji in ‘Shayad Yehi To Pyar Hai’. Adnan Sami has used his
talent, creativity and skills perfectly to make this album versatile, feel-good
and melodious altogether. No doubt in saying that … “yes”, he has done it. The
sober and smooth vocals by Adnan and Lata Ji keep your ears glued to the player
while the song lasts. This romantic number helps you go for the repeated hearing
as well.
Rating: 9/10
Overall:
Adnan has scored the tunes, which are not only soothing and melodious but also
refreshing and everlasting. This soundtrack is the finest one amongst the horde
of albums released so far this year. Adnan has proved that he is equally
competent in scoring music for both albums and films. ‘Lucky – No Time For Love’
is definitely a worthy addition to any Bollywood fan’s music collection.
