Things I've Learned This Past Year on AOL

I've learned patience. . .
(As I sit waiting and waiting for things to download,
for my emails to open,
for my IM's to go through.)

I've learned that even though I have 7.0
some of my embedded pictures
might not be displayed.

I have learned that my mailbox
is sometimes "temporarily unavailable,"
usually when I need to access it the most.
Or that I can't send mail
when I need to the most.

I've learned that even if I cancel backgrounds,
the time it takes to cancel
just might take longer
than letting it be displayed.

I've learned that
corresponding with Keyword "System Response"
is like corresponding with no one!

I've learned that I don't always get
the answer to questions I ask
when contacting "[email protected]".
(Maybe it was someone else's answer
because it sure wasn't what I asked about.)

I've learned that
"fatal error" &
"Illegal operation"
are not really fatal or illegal.

I've learned that there are
more GOOD people online than BAD.

I've learned that the computer
is a GREAT thing.

I've learned that the screen that I'm looking at
has many wonderful people on the other side of it,
even if I can't seem to see them.

I've learned that believing
everything someone tells you online
is an error in good judgment.

I've learned that women are more sensitive
and actually care what you think.
(But there are a lot
of pretty neat guys out there, too!)

I've learned that the computer can make me LMAO!

I've learned that the online friends I've made
are extra-special people.
I've learned that computer friends
pass on just like REAL people do.
I guess this means they ARE real people.
