In my continuing quest
for cuture searching(or culture bashing....). I came across yet
another satire japanese site: http://www-unix.oit.umass.edu/~thoureau/japanese.html
If you are taking Japanese classes, just where do you fit? And if your
asian see aj's find http://www.people.carleton.edu/~reitera/azn.htm
I didn't find an exact one for myself but was definitely able to
take bits and pieces of some of them. So what is that? A banana that is
interested in learning about the culture but is not attracted to asian
women? I guess that pretty much sums it up.

I took down the collection of gifs that was posted earlier on the site,
however you can find them here Gif
Collection more will be added later

This is why the kenshin
manga is better then the series

alright heres a
computer update: I got 2 mp 2400's and they both run fine. Yeah guys I
guess you were right I somehow managed to blow both of my processors.
Here's the situation now. Well i got everything running and tested.
However at the standard vcore settings auto my computer cpu
temperatures are at like 53*C where they remain stable. Cpu 2 is
usually slightly higher and also stable. I was able to tweak the vcore
to 1.550 where it can still be functional and my cpu settings run about
47*C standard. If I take off my 7 watt mod on the power, then the
computer runs at about 43*C standard but it sounds like a tornado with
3x 120's and 2 80s. All high powered! Is it just me or do these
temperatures sound a bit too high. I haven't updated my bios yet.
Perhaps this could be a contributing cause? My heatsinks are sk-7s and
i have adjusted them several times with no effect.

Oops I stayed up till 3
am saturday watching a bootleg copy of the matrix 3 and slept through
saturday school yesterday morning. Heh Matt you were right about
the
matrix. I'll stay away from direct bashing of the plot because i'd hate
to give anything away. So I'll bash the script. The script was so poor
and simplistic that I think it would have been more entertaining if
they had spoken it in broken english. The only 3 sylible words
spoken were brief speeches from the architect and Agent Smith.
The simplistic dialog and the stalemate fighting( as well as their
fighting location...) makes this movie remind me of Dragon Ball
Z. Perhaps it was their target audience as well...
You know being down here has let me do
a few things: getting to test out computer programing, learning
some of the fundamentals of psychology as well as becoming secluted
from the rest of the world (heh i really didn't attempt to make any
friends during my short trip down here. Which as you all may be
aware of can seriously effect your emotional state) I think I've
finally come to a conclusion about myself. As I work on this computer
project it seems I get more and more frustrated if things don't go
right and when i'm frustrated I tend to get sloppy, causing more
mistakes. I'm beginning to think to myself you know? I'm not a
very anal guy instead for those of you who know me at all know that I
am quite the opposite. I am typically pretty lax although I
have been known at times to be a bit neurotic. Where is this heading?
Well i'm thinking of switching majors from computer science to
psychology. Being able to read people and know what they want is
an awsome power. While I'm not saying that only psychologist
possess this power or all psycologists posses this power, I am saying
that through this chosen profession perhaps it will uncover just that
much about people. Perhaps it will give me more control over
myself as well. Sure I'll have to deal with countless depressing
people and that is some tough mental strain to take for anyone.
However, I can have a better understanding of the human mind then the
typical Joe(not to be taken offense to any Joes out there).
Anyways I think i'm still going to read a Java book and read a c++ book
but beyond that, I'm not going to pursue the computer science path
beyond a hobby.

Jericho 941 Airsoft Replica is out! It's available at Wargameclub! http://www.wargameclub.com/pcart/shopper.php?itm=HS-PS-941_srch_1
go buy it lol.
ALRIGHT! I KNOW YOU ALL ARE WONDERING ABOUT THAT FUCKING COMPUTER
PROJECT THAT HAS SUCKED THE PAST 2.5 MONTHS OF MY LIFE! SO I DECIDED TO
GIVE YOU THE BLOW BY BLOW: HERE IT IS A THREAD THAT I POSTED IN THE
OVERCLOCKERS FORUM:
Alright to begin with everything was going smoothly. I had tested out
the processors and the computer had sucessfully posted in its initial
boot. The ram sticks were being properly read and everything It was
then when I decided to swap the power magic fans with panaflo L1a's. I
got the increased airflow ones because i thought i could do the 7 watt
trick to them if they were too loud.
Heh this is when things started to go wrong. I didn't connect the
powersupply fans directyly into the former solders but instead ran them
through the molax connectors. The powersupply wouldn't run. So I was
like ok well perhaps its some security issue so i cut the wires and
soldered them on to the spots where the previous fans had been before.
Everything was running for about 15 seconds and i was turning the power
on and off testing out the quietness of the fans with various 5/7 watt
settings using the y adapters of the molex connectors when suddenly
poof everythign just turned off. My first thought was oh crap heh. My
first thought was the computer fans weren't even coming on but the led
lights were showing up on the mobo so I thought that it was still
recieving power. From that point out the computer wouldn't post. I
cleared the cmos, took out the battery other proceducal stuff tested
the vid card(just to make sure it wasn't that) and it still wouldn't
post. So I was like crap I guess I fried the mobo. I returned the mobo
and got a new one luckily still under warrantee.
Anyways when I got the new motherboard I tested it and got similar
results...the thing still wouldn't post. My next thought was it must be
the powersupply then since i was doing all that tampering with it and
since it suddenly just blew out. I tested the power supply out on a
different computer and it woulnd't boot. Since I had already voided the
warrantee on the powersupply I thought well crap a fuse broke or
something and went out and purchased a well known quality
powersupply(Forton 530) not tampering with it to leave the warrantee in
tact. I got the new powersupply and the fan and and the leds on the
mobo started up. To take extra procautions I tested each processor
again with one stick of ram. The first one posted and read as an mp
processor. The second one didn't post and just had a bunch of red leds
flashing near the ps2 slots on the internal side of the mobo. It also
kept clicking like when the comptuer freezes up and you keep pressing
buttons on the keyboard. I was like oh great so i held the button on
the case to turn off the comptuer. Except it wouldn't turn off! after
about 10 seconds i began to smell something funny not strong by all
means I can't quite pinpoint it and it was very faint. So I immediately
cut the power through the powersupply Anyways so I was like great one
of my processors got fried that was once running fine. Both processors
already ran as mp processors in the initial testing. I then went to try
to put the other processor that was WORKING just before in and it
wouldn't WORK!!? GAHH I'm ready to scream i've been at this for like
2.5 months ordering parts stuff on hold blah, reordering parts parts
haven't come in parts not working dremeling holes. I sware i've never
had so much stress building a computer before and its taking everything
i have not to throw this computer out the window and get a dell.
Anyways so thats my story up to date. Does anyone have any suggestions
on what I should do next? I feel at a loss right now and this
frustration is beginning to cloud my thinking process.
btw here is my exact computer project:
Mobo - MSI K7D MASTER L AMD 762 MOTHERBOARD
Cpus - 2 AMD Athlon XP 1700+ Thoroughbred Processor CPU
Memory - 2 sticks Buffalo Technology DDR DIMM 512MB PC2700 Samsung
Chipset, OEM
Cooling - 2 ThermalRight SK-7
2 80mm panaflo l 1a's
PSU - Fortron 530 Watt Dual Fan PSU, P4/AMD, Standard ATX, True Power
Supply
Radeon 9500 vid card
52x2452x btc burner
wd 200 gig special edition 8mb cache ultra dma
3x 120 fans 2 panaflo 1 antec
antec SLK3700AMB
Also because my case had to be backordered and all the wait times on
other misc parts my processors warrantee has expired...but i bet it
would have been voided anyways with the scratching on the l5 bridges.
My conclusion after doing
all of this? I'm ripping out the xp processors and putting in mp 2400+
thats right i'm through with modding.... well i will test out the soft
mod on the video card but no more soldering, no more hardware modding,
its too risky for a person like me. Also the failure/ sucesss
ratio has taken its toll on my mental self esteem and my abilities in
handiling this kind of technology. Fuck i think i'm just going to build
a straight computer with no mods next time. That is if i even
choose build a computer... I might just get a dell.
11/7/03: Well techniquely its,
um, friday I guess. It's about 2:30 in the morning over
here in San Diego. Anyways um nothing really insightive here but I was
just looking over the net and did some surfing. Well I came
across a site that had a few review for Japanese Television. This
particular show called Nasubi caught my eye "Nippon
Television's (NTV) producers have obviously never heard of the Geneva
Convention. If they had, they wouldn't have treated poor Nasubi
the way they did. They wouldn't have stripped him naked and shut
him in an apartment, alone with no food, furniture, household goods, or
entertainment. They wouldn't have kept him there for over a year
until he had won $10 000 in prizes by sending in postcards to
contests. They wouldn't have cut him off from the world and they
would have told him that he was on nation-wide TV." Heh yeah those crazy Japanese...
anyways if you are interested in seeing the rest of the review be my
guest. The link to the site is http://www3.tky.3web.ne.jp/%7Eedjacob/nasubi.html
Its actually, sadly, rather entertaining. Anyways I don't
want to spam anymore links out there because chances are you won't
bother to look at them but on that site minus the nasubi section there
are other um rather interesting Japanese TV shows. I also caught
the homepages for the people that did the hacked translations for Star
Ocean, Bahammat Lagoon, and secret of mana 2! Heh the guy tomato after
reading his webpage is someone that I would like to hopefully take a
similar path. The number counter seems to be broken so I'll have
to put anew one in sometime. Also this site looks like it was
done by a two year old so I better find that dreamweaver program to
save me alot of grief. Anyways thats enough babbiling for one
day. I wanted to tell a story but I guess it will have to wait
until another time. Perhaps tomarrow or rather later today when I
wake up.
11/6/03: Heres a couple random
ippo gifs that i leeched from HTD in the
rh hub... shhhh. I hope to put some of my own creations in here
soon since i have nothing but time to learn flash while i'm down
here. Hehe this ought to lag up those computers with slow
connections
