"Heavens Above" - Breanna Hogue

Tough times are headed your way,
You pray for the strength to make it through the day,
You struggle and fight for a better life,
And every night before bed you break down and cry
You cry and plea:
“Oh God, can’t you see?
All I need us a little bit of love…
Send me strength, from the heavens above.”
The things you do to survive…
Just to live an everyday life,
Are extraordinary feats, the challenges you face,
You deserve to be in a better place.
I pray you’ll make it though the night,
Hoping tomorrow you’ll still be by my side,
But you’re growing weak and won’t be here much longer,
Oh, I wish God could make you stronger.
I hit my knees and look at the sky,
I mutter a prayer, as tears fall from each eye,
“Please let her stay, you know I love her too,
Oh God can’t you see I need her more than you?”
From the heavens above, comes a soft rain,
Slowly he takes away her suffering and pain,
Many of us mourn his decision made,
But she’s better off in heaven than if she had stayed.
