HSBC Treetop Walk

June 15, 2010. The HSBC Treetop Walk is a highlight of some of the several hiking routes in MacRitche Catchment Area. The first of its kind, this free-standing suspension bridge connects the two highest points (Bukit Peirce and Bukit Kalang) in MacRitchie. It offers a bird's eye view of the community of plants and animals that live in the forest canopy. The total length of the walkway is about 250m and its height from the forest floor varies, with the highest point at 25m.

This expedition was organized by Abang Jaapar and was participated by a group of 12 others! Besides Abang Jaapar, the group consisted of Solehah, Rashidah, Saiful, Hilmi, Rashid, Farhan, Anuar, Zulkifli, Ahshika, Izma, Asyur and ex-partner (sorry, I don't her name). Our starting point was MacRitchie Reservoir Carpark. There was a heavy downpour before the expedition! Some of us have already reached and sought shelter at the carpark while some were stranded at the nearby bus stop! Well, here are the pictures!

I don't know who took this picture! It's AWFUL! Hahaha!

Ahshika and Rashid poses while Saiful was seen in great distress!

Solehah trying to hide from the camera, Asyur and partner having a chit-chat,
Farhan doing some Taiji, Zulkifli stretching himself and Rashid does not
want to miss the fun being silly in this picture!

There's a Pink Ranger in the group!

Pink Ranger with White Ranger!

The only two person who realized they were being shot, Abang Jaapar
and Ahshika, the Pink Ranger.

Saiful: What? We only walked 10.5km?

Everywhere was flooded!

The MacRitchie reservoir is also a place for kayaking.

A group photo before we enter the jungle.

Another one.

Pit stop at somewhere in MacRitchie. I think it's the Ranger Station.

Not far from the Treetop Walk!

Abang Jaapar explaining something on this err... fern?

Before we set foot for the Treetop Walk, we took another photo at the
Ranger Station.

A new kind of umbrella!

Going uphill is sure tiring!

Somewhere near the Treetop Walk I guess. And another group photo.

And another one.

We reached the suspension bridge of the Treetop Walk!

Spot the difference! Hahaha!

You can tell Zulkifli is satisfied!

Haven't had enough of photo-taking, so here's another one!

And another one!

You can only go one way and you can't turn back!

The guys discovered something but I can't remember what it was!

Errr... No caption! Heheheh.

Climbing up the stairs. That's the first time Solehah was seen smiling! :D

Name an animal with a huge red ass (clue: the animal in this photo above)
a) Baboon
b) This ant.
c) None of the above.

Walking out of the forest, we came across this pipeline.

With sheer determination, we managed to go round the pipeline!

Stroll in the jungle.

Can't remember where this is. Rifle Range Road?

Walking along the road towards somewhere out of the jungle.

We parted ways upon reaching a point along Rifle Range Road. Some of us took the cab along the road and some continued walking towards Dunearn Road. Well, I do not know what happened next but I have to continue uploading the pictures and wrtie captions right? So here they are:

The expedition must be really tiring, as potrayed by Hilmi.

Despite the tiredness, Rashid is still smiling!

A good expedition! A success! Farhan showing he's satisfied!

The organizer, Abang Jaapar, did a great event-organizing!

Solehah: Apa? (What?)
And then there was silence.
