The story of
Breakin'
Spinning, gliding and flying across America like a half mad tornado, a new form of street dancing has risen from the core of the nation's inner cities and is spreading to street corners, shopping malls and school yards everywhere. And now, Cannon Films has brought many of the country's most talented break dancers together for the first time in the Golan-Globus production of Breakin'.

The story revolves around Kelly, a waitress and aspiring dancer who is working her way through dance classes to make it happen. One day Kelly becomes tired of the mundane dance routines being taught by her lecherous dance teacher Franco and decides to leave. Thanks to her friend Adam who is also a dancer at the academy, she meets and befriends Ozone and Turbo, two master break dancers on the scene who after a run in with a rival gang called Electro Rock teach Kelly how to breakdance. After turning out Electro Rock, the trio set out to make it big by using a big time dance competion. But Kelly's talent agent James has reservations about her break dancing friends and so does the whole dance world. But the trio over come this and get into the audition landing themselves parts in a big broadway show.

This is the excitement captured by Breakin', which stars Lucinda Dickey in her first starring role in a motion picture musical as Kelly Bennett / Special K. She is joined by the Los Angeles street dancers Adolfo Shabba-Doo Quinones as Ozone and Michael Boogaloo Shrimp Chambers as Turbo. And by a cast of talented performers, including Christopher McDonald as Kelly's agent James Wilcox, Ben Lokey as Franco, Phineas Newborn III as Adam and a host of break dancers.
