Sing About Life
"Life is as hard and as easy as they say..."
                          -Dar Williams,
                           It Happens Every Day
This page won't tell you a whole lot of new information about any of the artists listed and linked. Your best bet is to head to a search engine and type in an artist's name; it seems everyone has his or her own page these days, complete with bio, tour schedules, discography, and often lyrics, tabs, photos, and more. That's a well-invented wheel.

Nevertheless, I don't think I can make a website claiming to "represent" something important about me without including some kind of reference to the music that has influenced my perspective on the world, the music with which I often connect so deeply, the lyrics and rhythms which capture elements of my world.

And perhaps you already know one or two of these artists and will discover someone or something new here.  I hope so.

Plus there's the
Amazon.com personality test element of it... huh? Yeah. Well, have you noticed that on Amazon.com, when you search for a book, it gives you the option of seeing what music people buy who bought that book? Likewise, if you search for music, you can check out the literary preferences of those who bought that cd. This can be quite revealing... For example, people who bought Plato's Republic also tended to buy Jimi Hendrix. I mean, who knew? On the other hand, the Hendrix fans were all buying Fender guitar guides.  Hmmm. So maybe if you like my poetry, or enjoyed the same books as I did, or favor purple backgrounds, you'll find something to appreciate in these artists...

"Ain't got no answers here.
What I see is not clear.
Time to shake it around,
turn my world upside down
and watch as the stars come unhinged."
-Cowboy Junkies
New Dawn Coming
"In the thick of the night
take me out of the cold
let me sing inside
like a radio.
In the thick of the night
before we grow too old
let me sing inside
like a radio."
        -Over the Rhine,
         Like A Radio
"I tell you I'm falling, you tell me I'm strong..."
