Whisk margarine and sugar in a bowl and add one by one the yolks mixing well. Add the milk, baking powder, vanillin and flour.
Separately beat the egg whites until foamy, then add them to the above mentioned mixture.
Grease a baking tray with margarine or oil, powder it with flour and spread the mixture evenly inside the tray. On top of the mixture place the plums cut into halves. Preheat oven at 180 0C (350 0F) and bake the cake for aprox. 30 min. or until done.
When is cold, cut it into 2” x 2” pieces and place them on a platter. Sprinkle icing sugar on top.
