Wasting Away

I'm starving, but I'm not hungry.
Starting to growl, I snap at the world
and come to my senses
a nibble for my needs and move on
searching for food to quell my desire.
I ignore the feast in front of my eyes.

Pray for strength to keep on roving.
I stumble, and can't understand.
On the ground, I realize
a sip from the neverending fountain and stand up.
dodging trees in this dense forest.
I'm inspired only be my lusts.

Driving in a continuous circle
I find a source and bleed it dry.
fainting on, I see you
Clearly, suddenly I know that you fill me and breathe in
Living the life that is meant to be
I'm holding on for something eternal.
