Silver Smoothness

She looked through the mirror
and prayed that she would find her destiny.
two faces
illumined by the reflected light of
a single candle
in the self depreciating moments
she sings her body into being
and calls it love

She sank to the floor
and slept to seek her pale, lost dream
embraces
reached out to all four corners
of the world
from the self-depleting fragments
she pours her mind into song
and names it light

She woke at the window
and wondered why she'd never seen her death from here
dream places
vanished like the faded reflections
behind her eyes
in the self-defacing smoothness
she drives her soul into night
and frames the life
