Chineses pedem desculpas

Pequim - Dirigentes chineses pediram desculpas p�blicas nesta quinta-feira pelo esc�ndalo no Mundial de V�lei Feminino, disputado na Alemanha at� o dia 15 de agosto. No Mundial, vencido pela It�lia, a sele��o chinesa perdeu, deliberadamente, alguns de seus jogos com o intuito de enfrentar advers�rios teoricamente mais fracos nas fases seguintes.

Em um comunicado oficial, publicado no jornal "Zhongguo Tiyubao", o t�cnico da equipe Xu Li e o chefe da delega��o Chen Zhonghe, admitiram ter cometido "um erro muito grave"

"N�o tivemos respeito algum pelas outras equipes, os �rbitros e os nossos torcedores quando n�o nos esfor�amos para vencer algumas partidas", diz o comunicado.

O reconhecimento p�blico de culpa, no entanto, n�o pareceu ser uma rea��o espont�nea dos dois. O t�cnico e o chefe da delega��o foram pressionados pelo vice-presidente de Esportes da China, Li Furing quem, na semana passada, considerou a atitude "contra a desportividade e o jogo limpo".
