| Length: 5000-10,000 WORDS : Ganache 10,000 - 20,000 WORDS : Bundt 20,000 + : Tiered No, you don't have to phrase it like that. We were hungry and craving cake when thinking this up. Specifically chocolate cake. This is also why all the backgrounds on the crossoveroff page are black. |

| TYPE: This is important so pay attention. Contrary to popular belief, all crossovers are NOT the same. Please make sure to categorize yours appropriately, as we are attempting to be as specific as possible. PLUNK: Smashing two canons together, no changes to either. As one judge put it, "when you plunk one canon into another and watch the sparks fly." No deviation whatsoever from canons aside from the two (or however many) being put together. Characters are expected to be entirely IC, and judging will be involved with this. Also, fair warning, be aware that the "plot hole phenomena" (aka just BAM "oh hay look it's Harry Potter!") will not fly well with us, unless you have a very good reason for it, like a Plot Hole MACHINE. SWITCH: In effect, keeping one canon...well, canon, and twisting the other into an AU so that they mesh. We'd prefer if all characters are kept as in character as possible, but leeway is given for the twisted canon. We assume in the Switch category, unlike in the Warp category, that characters from both canons will be appearing. Please take note of this. WARP: Keeping one canon as is and warping the other so that it appears that the warped canon's characters belong within the first canon originally. A rather convoluted explanation, so an example: Indiana Jones as a reckless jedi who keeps having to save old jedi artifacts from those nefarious sith, with no jedi or sith from a Star Wars canon. This is the point in the Crossoveroff where we start watching for Mary Sues. Be aware, they will be stomped upon. MORPH: Taking two canons and putting them into an original universe, usually the "Standard" universe that we all live in. Characterization and adaption to the universe of your choosing is vitally important in judging; MORPH-category entries must be expressed as such when sending in your interest email. If you're having trouble figuring out your category, please email the judges. It is very important to us to categorize everything correctly for judging and determining the winner of each category. |
