| The game room is the best place to hang out, and everyone spent tons of money on the racing game, Cynthia spent like, $20 there, and another girl spent $40, JUST on the racing game!!!!! It is fun, I have to admit. This picture is of Trevor racing, and Aleks, aka Giggles is the one in the orange shirt. | |||||||||||||||
| Stuff about camp: Ok, McDaniel band camp *chorus of angels sing* was one of the best experiences of my life. If you love band, you should definately go to this camp because it was a really good learning experience. I learned cut time, which I had never even heard of before! It was really fun to learn all that new stuff. OK, you might want to hear more spacifics, so here goes.... The first day was nervewracking, but fine just the same. Everyone auditioned for being in either green or gold band. I got in green band, then went to Cynthias dorm to hang out. I'm gonna spare you the details. And then we went to dinner. After that, we took a theory placement exam and I did really bad, there were four pages and I only answered about a quarter of the questions! I left two and a half pages empty. So anyhoo, after that we went to class, met our director, and started learning our songs. They were hard, especially "The Thunderer" which is a Sousa march. That was the song in cut time. For all you people who don't know anything about that or music in general, cut time is where the note written in the page is played half it's value. For example, if it's a whole note, it's played as a half note, if it's an eighth note, it's played as a sixteenth note. Very hard to figure out....yup........Then after that, we went to like, free time, and we went swimming. It was pretty fun. Then I left. The next day, I got there and ate breakfast. Then we went to actual band. I don't have time to write anymore at this particular moment, so I'll write more later. |
