Lucy meets or exceeds five of the six criteria which immigration officials are supposed to consider in order to stay a deportation order. Why then is the Canadian Immigration Department so determined to disregard their own rules?
We have no idea! We only know that a young woman who has had a difficult life and who has already paid for a crime which she claims she did not commit, is being asked to pay yet again.
Surely this government decision conflicts with strongly held Canadian values of compassion, justice and human rights!
