In light of Canada's interest in human rights abuses in foreign countries, it is strange that this country would allow an arm of its own government to subject someone to these same abuses, and even to face a sentence of death.
We realize that there are serious, wide-ranging violations of basic human rights going on all over the world today. Many people are working very hard to bring about changes in countries where human and religious rights are horribly abused. Nevertheless, what we are requesting now is your support in preventing the abuse of human rights and the danger to the life of a beautiful, caring and compassionate lady which is happening within Canadian borders.
Lucy feels relatively safe in the church. However, she is very frightened about what will happen to her if she falls into the hands of the Chinese government. We believe she has reason to be afraid.
