The region of Citarum watershed has quite a vast agriculture area. Non irrigated agriculture areas usually are found in the hilly part, where irrigated ones are found in the lower and flatter areas. Changes of land cover are easily detected from satellite images, which show growth of residential area around rivers and main streets.

 River of Citarum is the main source of irrigation for agriculture area in the Citarum watershed. Infrastructure is built to make use of this river. From satellite image, one sees a decrease of vegetation densitiy (lower right) and an increase of residential area (upper part)
