Lucca's earliest memories as a small child were of the struggles and poverty of living in a small Sicilian village during World War II. Soon after witnessing the traumatic death of his younger brother, Lucca was sent off to work on a farm at a mere age of six, blindfolded during the trips so he wouldn’t run off and find his way back home like many older children before him.

Deprived on a normal childhood, he continued to work there in harsh conditions until adulthood. When he fell in love and tried to make his own way in life, it set off a chain of events that brought out the best and worst from those around him. Narrowly avoiding tragedy his life is a powerful story of triumph in love over madness, deceit and lies.
