When I came up with that quote, I was talking with my buddy Ty Fighter (an artist in Oxnard, CA), and we were talking about how people don't know how to take criticism. He was specifically talking about self-bias, and that's when I asked that question. He said I should make it a quote, so here we are.

I've come to realize that I'm not going to please every single person I show my art to. People are going to talk trash on it, say I'm bad, or say I'm never gonna get anywhere. But you can't listen to that stuff. The stuff that matters is the stuff that actually constructs, and builds you as an artist, but also as a person. You have to be willing to step out of boundaries and try new things. Don't be afraid to screw up, because that's how you learn.
