1991 – 1992 Sparton of Canada London, Ontario
Accounts Receivable / Billing Clerk
Sparton of Canada provided Sonoboys for the Department of National Defence. Projects could take years to complete and where invoiced based on the contract. My job was to take the engineers hours balance them with the payroll supervisors data and invoice this time to the Canadian government, keeping track of these hours as to not exceed the contract requirements. My invoices where required to be 100% accurate. I implemented a credit card and vehicle control system for engineers travelling and worked closely with the Controller and Accounting supervisor. I supervised and supplied all export and import papers for world wide shipments. I assisted the accounting supervisor to implement a new accounting system (Accpac) and assisted all government auditors.
1988 – 1991 Aerocare Home Medical London, Ontario
Administrative Assistant
Aerocare Home Medical provided medical equipment and oxygen to at home patients. My responsibility was to invoice either the client or the government program for which medical coverage was approved, validating that all government forms where completed accurately. I maintained all patient files and public relations with clients in fragile situations. I helped implement a new accounting/billing system that would provide a more timely invoice procedure to increase company cash flow.
