Barangay Binacas

Barangay Binacas is around twenty minutes jeepney ride from the town proper. Binacas name came from the word "bakas" ( footprints). This footprints can be found on solid rocks at the seashore of Binacas beach, just a few minutes walk from the Catholic church. This barangay is bounded by mountain ranges and the south China Sea.

Binacas is blessed with several rivers, virgin forest, mountain ranges, and beautiful beaches. Its  array of stunning beaches, fantastic caves, wonderful rock formations and waterfalls are what this barangay can offer you.

Binacas is always a recipient of the cleanest and greenest barangay award.  The place is very quiet, peaceful and the people are very friendly and hospitable.  An early morning walk along  Binacas beach is a must if you want to see the beauty of the sun that rises just behind  Mt. Ambulong and to complete your day watch  the sun as it kisses and hides into the vast China Sea during sunset.

There are many beaches here where everyone can enjoy and relax. Some beaches can be access by foot or by motorized boat. Of all the beaches here,  Binacas beach is the most visited because of its proximity to the barangay proper.

A fifteen  minutes walk from Barangay plaza is Pulo Islet and Kabuyuan Beach where anyone can enjoy the beauty of the beach and the scenery. Around Polo are small caves and a lot of beautiful rock formations. Half of the perimeter of this islet are lined with trees. The entire stretch of Kabuyuan Beach is lined with coconut trees.

Binacas is home to two waterfalls, the Hulagaan and the Sala  Falls.  Hulagaan Falls is a series of falls leading to a stony beach. It is accessible via a thirty-minutes motorized boat ride from Binacas and twenty minutes trek.

For adventurers, hikers, trekkers and mountain climbers the  most exciting way to Hulagan is by foot.  Hulagaan beach leads to this array of falls. The motorized boat ride is in itself a fascinating experience because of the beautiful scenery along the way. The trip will pass by  Punta, the white sand of Pinagdagatan, Punta Diablo (Pinagdagatan Point), long stretch of white sand of Tabionan which lead to Tinalunan ng Dalaga.

Mountain ranges, slopes forests, fascinating rock formations are just some eye catching views along the way to Hulagaan.

Sala Falls is a 45-minutes trek from Binacas Plaza.  This water falls lead to a nature made swimming pool.  The water supply of the Barangay is coming from a dam, upstream of Sala Falls. The dam, christened as La Concordia Dam has been constructed at no cost to both local and national government. All cost of the project is from donors abroad through the effort of Lubang parish priest then, Fr. Ortner.

All jobs in this project is done manually. Construction of dam, reservoir and pipe laying are done through "bayanihan". It took more than three years to finished this project.

Today this water system supplies water to all houses here and irrigates nearby farms. La Concordia dam and the entire system is now an attraction of this simple and cohesive barangay.

During the search for Mr. Onoda, many Japanese stayed and camped here until he came out from  hiding and surrender.  While on search for him helicopter hovered around.
