STEP 1 CLEANING: Work surfaces must be prepared by removing oxidation. Oxidation will prevent penetration of the rod into the work surface. Cleaning can be accomplished by using a wire brush, sanding or scraping to remove oxidation, dirt and foreign material.

STEP 2 HEATING: Heat the work surface to be repaired using appropriate torch. Most repairs can be made using a propane torch. Do not heat the rod, only the work surface, until surface is hot enough to flow the rod.

STEP 3 REPAIRING: Apply rod to the work surface with a scrubbing motion. Build up and excess of rod around the break, using the rod to draw the molten material over the hole or crack. Allow to cool naturally.
