We left Quito early on a Friday morning for a long weekend at the beach. As I recall, I believe this was a national holiday weekend. Anyway, it was a 3-4 hour drive to the beach - from Quito (around 9000 ft. in altitude), winding through the mountains, through the jungle, to the coast (at sea level).
It was a great resort with it's own private beach. The food was very good and very inexpensive.
It was a great break spent tanning in the sun, boogey boarding in the high waves and sleeping in late...
I highly recommend this as a vacation spot. |
