Debbie also provided me with information about a classroom activity called Seuss on the Loose.  In celebration of Dr. Seuss' birthday the pre-K devoted their day to him.  The students brought in their favorite Seuss books to share with the class.  They also made their own "Cat in the Hat" hats, and drew pictures of their favorite Seuss stories.  They6 enjoyed reading many of their favorite stories and learning about the man behind the wonderful Dr. Seuss books.

MOST HOLY ROSARY
After visiting The Direction Connection website Principal Barb Massena writes ....."Two of our Eat Well, Play Hard mini-grants were approved.  One has to do with increasing srtudents' awareness of how to make healthy choices in food selection.  The other has to do with walking for exercise - we are going to establish a Mileage Club for faculty, staff and students.  We are excited about implementing the plans (and) these grants will enable us to (do so).

These projects both involve the whole school population, and so, are community building opportunities.  We anticipate that the
Mileage Club activities will begin in April, under the direction of our physical Education teacher, Maryrose.

Our sixth grade class already began their education in the area of food selection when they went to Wegmans and took a
Good Food Tour.  Wegmans also contributed to our project by donating money for food samples which we will use in the classrooms.  Our sixth grade teacher, Mrs. Laura Robinson, will be responsible for the initial part of this project".
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK, MHR...AND CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!
