Boxwood (some call Buxus Silica Cheng)is commonly found in countries like CHINA,TAIWAN,INDONESIA,MALAYSIA and many other asia countries. It is one of the bonsai materials widely used in this region for various reasons. It is fairly easy to grow in the hot weather condition, eventhough sources said it originated from four seasons countries. However, half sheded condition will give a better growing environment.Extreme sunlight-exposed Boxwood with insufficient water will result in leaves turning yellow. Therefore, right amount of fertilisers, water and sunlight will make Boxwood look happy and healthy.

Another good character Boxwood is that its trunk looks aged eventhought it is still a young three. The following shows aged-looking bark one year old trees.

Its foliage is oval in shape, measuring 0.5cm in lenght. The following picture gives you a better image of its leave and seed. From experience,Boxwood's seed consumes substantial amount of fertiliser, therefore,it is advisable to get rid of some of the seeds, leaving some to add nature to the plant.

The only setback about Boxwood is that it grows extremely slow. However, just like other plants,it may grow slightly faster if it is planted on the ground.
