Smith & Wesson 586 CO2 air-pistol by
Umarex Appearance The S&W 586 CO2 air-pistol is approximately the same size and handling characteristics of the full-bore pistol. In this case though, the finish is a satin black on an aluminium alloy frame instead of a deep blue on steel. Unfortunately the rear sight is made mostly of plastic, including the leaf, which can be damaged easily. In this case the leaf & lateral adjustment was replaced by a genuine S&W steel item, the whole rear sight assembly is not interchangeable between the two pistols. Loading & Firing You load a 12-gram CO2 powerlet into the butt by prising off the right-hand grip plate & use the threaded platform & lever to pierce the powerlet. Replace the grip plate. Push the thumb catch to release the cylinder yoke and place a loaded magazine-cylinder onto the yoke. Return the cylinder & yoke into place. You may now fire the pistol by either single or double action mode. Safety There is a hammer block that prevents the hammer from hitting the firing pin if the trigger is not following through with the shot.
