| All clubs so work closely with their counterparts, hopefully improving charitable projects and keeping the K Family connected. After graduating from high school, Key Clubbers have the oppertunities to move on to Circle K, and then Kiwanis. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The name "Kiwanis" was adapted from the expression "Nunc Kee-wanis" in the Otchipew (Native American) language, meaning "We have a good time," "We make a noise," or, under another construction, "We trade or advertise." | Aktion Club was accepted into the K Family in 1987. Aktion is constructed by disabled persons, Kiwanis, and agencies who assist disabled persons. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Circle K, also sponsered by Kiwanis, is the college level of the K Family. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| You can't join Golden K anymore, but existing members are still considered part of Golden K. Kiwanis folded this section of the K-Family, now senior citizens are just part of the Kiwanis Family. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Builders Club, another sponsered Kiwanis club, is for youth ages 12 to 15. The Club takes on the school's name where it was chartered. Club members elect their own officers but are supervised. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Kiwanis International was formed on January 12, 1915 in Detroit, Michigan. In 1916, Kiwanis extended to Canada, followed by the establishment of international Kiwanis in 1962. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| K-Kids is for elementary children, and depends on the supervision by Kiwanis, school adults, and appointed officials. They have elections but are assisted by adults. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
