Dear Sir;

I feel that I have been on the ship and among her crew long enough to make some worthwhile observations. Consider this my first report on the Freedom and her crew.

First, let me say that the Freedom is chronically understaffed, and remains in a moderate to poor state of readiness, though the crew is able to do some extraordinary things with what they have. Witness the collapse of New California and the crew's response to the emergency as a prime example of what I am speaking of. Had the crew not managed to pull together and provide critical support, hundreds, if not thousands of Federation citizens could have died. I also consider the discovery and removal of the highly corrupt ruling body of the Council and the replacement with a military governor a large positive for the crew. Perhaps this world can make some sort of a recovery now.

That said; let me move on to the crew. My primary concerns with the crew were the ones you pointed out Captain Lee, Commander Lera, Lt. Commander K'Lynxyl, though, in my opinion, Commander Tempres deserves a good examination as well. Please forward his records at you earliest convenience.

I have dismissed Commander Lera as an immediate threat. She seems both shallow and vacuous to the point that she has no outside interests other than seducing the Captain. I will continue to watch her, but think that if she were working against the Federation, it would be as a deep sleeper agent. I have observed no actions that I would consider suspicious at this time.

Captain Lee on the other hand seems to be a bright dedicated Starfleet officer, but I am beginning to think there is a possibility that he may be being manipulated by outside forces, perhaps as a pawn in the temporal cold war. I need to gather additional information, but have evidence that Captain Lee has been to Earth in the 20th century and interacted with an agent known as Garry Seven. That this information is not in his record, and that he has no knowledge of it other than a dim feeling of unease is both disturbing and frightening. Any information you could sent to me on this Garry Seven person would be helpful. For now though I intend to just continue to watch him and record any unusual behavior. It would be helpful also if you could have the Captain scanned for temporal abnormalities when we next come to the station. I would have the work done here, but it would cause questions to be asked by two of the people I am observing that I do not wish brought up.

Finally we come to Lt Cmdr K'Lynxyl. In this person I see the potential for tremendous trouble. Not from her per say, but from her brother. He seems to be involved in numerous dealings within the Federation, and his possession of prohibited warships and weapon systems is most troubling. I do not understand the relationship between the Lt Cmdr and her brother, or how it works, but she seems to be in a position where he is blackmailing her somehow. She also seems to be under some sort of deadline mentioned in a letter that may have been purposely leaked to the command staff of the Freedom. I would not be surprised to find that this Riit is scouting for a renewed Federation-Kzin war. That this is all happening at a time of rising tensions along the Romulan border may not be a coincidental. I fear that there may be a possible Kzin-Romulan alliance forming, and if this is so, it could place the Federation in a very risky situation. Please check with other agents and see if they have any word of a possible actions taking place in June. Perhaps we can learn something by looking at a slice of the bigger picture.

That is all for now. I will continue to watch and provide reports as I can.
