Put that thing back where it came from, or so help me, or So when did Star Fleet start using Outhouse Express?:

Interesting. In just one month I've gotten two unintended Emails. I will put this second here in my personal log as an addendum, now that I've unencrypted it. It's quite fascinating and give some insight into Ironbottem and what he wants. Seems that he is worried about Lera, and just has it in for Captain Lee. His letter does bring up an interesting question though, who would make a better replacement if Lee were to become incapacitated? I honestly don't know!

Oh, and that bit later on in the letter about Lera being a "Mata-Hari type spy". Isn't that what he is trying to make me? I'm really beginning to think it would be wonderful if a micrometeorite came through his office wall and nailed him!

Another thing it brings up is who else is on the Freedom as an agent? I need to find this person and make sure they see just what I want them to see. I need my reports corroborated, not disputed. I'll hack into the system and see what I can find with a key word search. Someone had to leave that package in my quarters, and what I'd like to know is why they aren’t doing some of this dirty work, or if they are, what is it? If they are monitoring the computer the other agent will know I've been doing some research as I've looked into the information that is contained here.

I do wonder if perhaps eugenics could have a part to play in this? Could Demian and Lera be part of a eugenics project? Could the same people that made that Garry Seven have made one or both of them and placed them to somehow watch Lee? Could they be working at cross-purposes? The people that made Seven did seem to be inclined to work against Kahn, and Lee comes from that time. Is there a connection? Is there something special about Lee that required him to be removed from that turbulent time, and if so, what did he contribute or inhibit in that time? I have too many questions and not enough answers.

The following was sent from the offices of Starfleet Command based at Starbase 13. Inscription level HIGH.

Admiral Degas
Starfleet Headquarters, San Francisco, Earth,

To Admiral Degas,

I find it no surprise that the Freedom was at New California at the time of the Space Station explosion. It added fuel to the rioting that caused mass disruption and damage to infrastructure that was further aggravated by the Electro-magnetic pulse. All for the dismissal of a few minor pests. Hardly a bargain, although Tongo Rad was among them, whom has caused numerous incidents and criminal actions, including taking part in the hijacking of a Starfleet vessel -
Record of incident . Captain Maxwell Lee is off the hook, this time ...

I would strongly advise you not to dismiss Cmdr. Lera t'Resan so quickly. As you know, Romulans can be extremely devious and back stab you when you least expect it. Even defectors who have proven to have no love of the Empire cannot be counted to be loyal to the Federation as the secession of
Planet L'nhraei and it's colonies demonstrates. Never trust a Romulan. I find Lera's assignment to the Freedom starting soon after the ship escorted a defecting Warbird to the nearest Starbase a cause of suspicion. Lee's report stated she was aboard the New California space station before it exploded. In my opinion she could have activated the self-destruct in a moment of opportunity, and with Demian Tempres also on board and supposedly in a fit of insanity, she had a scapegoat and would be free of suspicion.

Another cause of suspicion is Lera herself. Her behavior of going around trying to seduce people, notably Captain Lee, practically screams of trying to lure men into her web, to make them vulnerable and get them to spill information. I fear she may have already gotten to Captain Lee, and this supposed reluctance of his is a ruse to hide what goes on behind closed doors. For all we know, everything he sees and hears goes to Romulan Intelligence in a few hours.

Her behavior could be a ruse as well, but descriptions of her point to another possibility. The Freedom's former counselor was confirmed as genetically altered for multiple births, and had three, in a typically uncomfortable pregnancy. Lera had FIVE, was able to move around without much discomfort despite that load on her tiny body, and had an unusually easy birth and recovery. Her 36D breasts on such a small body would normally be a chiropractor's nightmare, yet she gleefully bounces around without any sign of discomfort. And an electric shock that sent the Captain down barely budged her. Her tolerances are clearly beyond those of normal humans or even normal Romulans. I can only conclude that like the former counselor, she too was gene-engineered. Perhaps she was originally intended as an eugenics experiment towards a high reproduction rate - the multiple (and easy) births, rapid recovery, and an eagerness to engage in the behavior that inevitably leads to more. But somehow along the line her genetics were further altered to enable her to be a "Mata-Hari" type spy, her pattern of going after the Captain, and then other targets when he's unavailable, and of course her unnatural doll-like shape.

This woman is a threat and must be removed from being so close to a position of command as soon as possible, and her suspected lover as well. Unfortunately, the Freedom is full of officers who are security risks. K'Lynxyl, whom I have already spelled out the threat she poses in earlier files, was recently promoted to Lieutenant Commander, and Lee may take advantage of this to bump her ahead of Demian Tempres in the chain of command. I still don't know why we didn't use the seismic planet cracker when we had the chance. Put all the flea-bitten ratcats out of the damned way for good. Sadly, until we can gain enough evidence against them, the best thing to do is keep the ship in areas of low security risk and continue to keep the ship's databanks from access to restricted files, save those that may be of use to our agents aboard and accessible to them only. The efforts on the latter should be increased as sometimes restricted files do get accessed.

On another note, one agent was able to get some information on the Captain that poses some disturbing questions. He stated he had "evidence" that Maxwell Lee had been to 20th Century Earth and interacted with an "agent Gary Seven." Presumably, he means the
Gary Seven sent to Earth in 1968 by an unknown power so advanced it was able to transport him from over 1,000 light-years away. What Gary Seven, or his masters who claimed they wanted to "help" Earth yet had Seven keep stealing the technology from UFO crashes before and after Terran scientists got to them, would want with him is unknown. Besides his initial mission that Kirk documented, Seven was most well noted for his covert actions in undermining Kahn's efforts in the Eugenics Wars.

Maxwell Lee has been involved in a confirmed time-traveling incident. Shortly after his arrival on the Freedom, the ship was sent back in time to December 6, 1941. Although Captain Treki insisted all they did was party on a Hawaiian beach, they did capture a robot masquerading as a local. What it was doing is unknown as Treki's inept security enabled it to escape.

Could this unknown and frighteningly technologically advanced power somehow be cooperating with the Romulans to keep the Federation in check, with Captain Lee as a mutual agent? His every move must be monitored, every file he reads must be noted.

Regards,

Admiral Ironbottom
Starbase 13

At least Ironbottem seems to be trying to do the best he can for the Federation, though I do wonder if he was in Tongo Rad's pocket. I truly wonder if he was one of Tongo's wolves. He seemed to me by the tone of this letter to have been more angry that we fixed the problem than at the people that had reduced one of the showplaces of the Federation to a backwater planet that could not even feed it self. I need to read up on Ironbottem and see what pokers he has in the fire.
