Milton Tyrone Dammers was born in Moosejaw Nebraska as the youngest of five children. <His father abandoned the family shortly after his birth for a life as a Boomer. His mother blamed Milton for his father leaving the family and was rather cruel to the boy, a practice taken up by his four older sisters who would lock him in closets, or strip him of his clothing and toss him outside in the cold.

The beginning of school was a small improvement for Milton as he was away from his family, but soon the other children learned that he was an easy mark for hazing and abused him as well. About half way through school Milton learned the power of knowledge and blackmail, which he put to good use against those that had been his tormenters.

As soon as he could, Milton left his cruel home life to> attended collage at The University of Idaho where he supported himself by working odd jobs and learned quantum engineering. <At one of his restaurant night jobs Milton, found his first (and only) love Lora Jackson. Unfortunately for him she was flighty and cruel, but he was blinded by her looks. She paid him attention when she needed money, and used him as a last resort lover when she had no one else in her life. They broke up and made up many times in the four years they were together. Normally the breakups would come when she had a job or found someone who looked interesting, and the makeups when they would wise up and dump her or she was out of money.

Milton intended to get a job with a construction company on Mars when he got out of school, but a border war had broken out with the Gorn Confederation and Lora had decided in one of her wild flights of fancy she was going into Starfleet to help protect the Federation. Being that this was one of the up times in their on again off again love affair (reads she didn’t have any other lovers at the moment and needed some money) Milton followed her> and he enlisted in Starfleet as soon as he had his diploma.

(Lora lasted six weeks at the academy before falling madly in love with one of the instructors and eloping. Milton had no idea this had happened. He had been shipped out and> attended the advanced school of heavy weapons on Mars <Only on his return to Earth did he discovered that Lora was gone.

Milton was crushed. Without Lora he lost all incentive to work and his grades dropped to the point were he just made it through the academy. But his life would take another turn at this point.

As he stood with his diploma in hand, a recruiter approached him. Feeling betrayed and lost, Milton signed up for training in the Federation Special Operations Division (and to his surprise found that he liked the work and excelled at it.>

After graduation he did his cadet cruse on the venerable Constitution class cruiser USS Constellation, and one more turn on the USS Fargo in security.

After his two training postings, Milton went into the Federation Black Operations Group doing undercover work, and was sent on numerous operations behind the lines in Gorn, Romulan, and Tholian space.

In his third year of undercover work, Milton and his team were involved in a sting operation against a Federation Senator who was believed to have been taking bribes from a shipyard based out of IO. <The truth was that the Senator was instead involved in an affair with the wife of the shipyard owner. Dammers discovered this and while he cleared the Senator of the corruption charge, he quietly went about blackmailing the man.

Unfortunately for the Senator he ran low on money and tried to say no to Milton’s blackmail demands, and so Milton exposed the man’s tryst.

The Senator was disgraced, divorced, and reassigned to the Gorn home world as ambassador (where it was fervently hoped he would die of heatstroke by his superiors).

The ambassador never forgot the man that ruined his life and used some of the friendships and debts he had acquired in the senate to track Dammers. He also cultivated a Gorn that he suspected to be a spy as a friend, pretending to get drunk and spill secrets to him.

Eventually the Ambassador got the information that he had long waited. Dammers and his team were to be dropped deep in Gorn space on the Gorn Romulan border on a spy mission. The ambassador got very drunk and spilled word of the mission to his Gorn friend.>

Dammers and his team were caught in a surprise attack on their transport deep in Gorn territory on a spy mission, and captured by the Gorn. He and the survivors of his team were questioned repeatedly by the Gorn, and finally tried in a military court, where they were found guilty of spying. The sentence was death by dismemberment.

The Gorn decided to bring them to their home world for a very public execution, but en route the two man crew of the transport were overcome by poison <They had gotten drunk and started eating the provisions captured with Dammers party. Unfortunately for them they mistook several Vulcan tofu bars as food and consumed them. Their deaths were almost instantaneous as you can imagine if you have ever tried to eat tofu.>

The ship wandered aimlessly for weeks <there is little difference between aimless wandering and normal Gorn piloting, so it went unnoticed by Gorn traffic control>, till it crossed the border with the Romulans and the starving survivors of Dammers group were taken as prisoners and brought to one of the many fine Romulan military bases <dropped off on an impoverished world with a garrison of disgruntled exiles, while the prison transport was sold on the black market by the Captain who found it>.

As this was a period were the Romulans were trying for better relations with the Federation <looking for a handout> the prisoners were treated well <tortured and questioned till nearly dead> and placed in comfortable cells where they were well fed and cared for <tossed in a deep hole used as a cesspit by the Romulan commissary.

Due to a clerical error, Dammers was placed in a large rolling file cabinet while his paperwork was dropped into the cesspit with his men (it was said that they couldn't tell the difference). He survived because the files in the cabinet with him were biodegradable and so quite edible, and by drinking a stash of Romulan ale he found in a box hidden in the back.>

The Federation negotiated his release <gave the Romulan ambassador huge amounts of money and some Orion slave girls> and they were eventually returned to Federation space <it took the Romulan commander quite some time to unravel the clerical error that had separated Dammers from his team as his secretary spent most of her time on the vid talking to friends or doing her nails and hadn’t a clue how the office worked.

Dammers tried to get her attention on several occasions after the guards had forced him into the cabinet and cranked it shut. He said that he could hear her whiney droning voice plainly from inside the cabinet (some say you could hear her for miles), but when he would call out, she would bang on the cabinet with a large stick or yell at it till he would quiet down.

They did finally find Dammers when the commander opened the cabinet to get a nip of ale, and found to his horror that it was all gone. He was enraged to fined that not only had Dammers consumed all his ale, but by then he had also eaten nearly two hundred years worth of records and despoiled even more as bedding, and for toiletry.

After a session with the base disciplinarian, he and his remaining men were tossed into a transport and sent home.>

Dammers received a promotion and a medal for bravery and going above and beyond in the destruction of the Romulan records. However the promotion was revoked less than a week later because of an unfortunate incident in the base hospital.

<He was sent to an orbital hospital after his ordeal where a councilor worked with him, but he was a badly damaged man by then. The councilor also became rather damaged physically when she attempted to take a ball he had for some unaccountable reason started calling Wilson from him.>

It was after this mission that people started calling Milton "Twitch" for the nervous ticks that he picked up while a prisoner.

Due to his harrowing experiences it was felt that Dammers should be given some time in the regular Navy to recover, so he was assigned as Tactical Officer to the USS Tang, an obsolete heavy cruiser Captained by M'Rander.

<They got along well as Dammers had always liked cats and she was a Caitian. She was also almost as mad as he was by then and they seemed to see things eye to eye on many levels.

The Tang was assigned to convoy duty along the Kzin border. They did do escort duty, but M'Rander hated the Kzin and would kill them when she could. She would use any pretext to attack a Kzin ship. She would even cross the border to chase down wounded Kzin ships deep in their own space. Finally she grew so bold that she became a pirate and would cross the border and attack Kzin convoys in their space.

The Kzin complained bitterly at the actions and demanded that the Federation stop the attacks, or remove the restrictions on them so that they could, but the complaints fell on deaf ears.

Eventually the Kzin had had enough and created a trap for her. On one of her cross border raids she found a convoy of six freighters being guarded by one of the old frigates that the Kzin were allowed under the last peace treaty with the Federation.

Knowing the frigate was no match for her cruiser, she attacked; nearly destroying the frigate in the first pass. But the freighters were not what they seemed, but rather well armed and armored Q ships commanded by a brash young Captain named Chaal Riit. They opened fire on her ship and crippled it while simultaneously beaming Kzin marines aboard.>

The Tang was captured by the Kzin in the raid so quickly and cleanly that M'Rander didn’t have a chance to arm the self-destruct. <The Kzin feasted well that night on her crew, all that is but Dammers and the Captain. The Captain they kept and entertained in traditional Kzin fashion (something no sane being would want, and most would not wish on their worst enemy), but they were unable to catch Dammers. Thanks to his training he managed to rig a tricorder into a crude sort of shield against their scanners, and because of his small size he was able to hide where they could not go (or did not wish to as he spent part of his time hiding in the sewage system).

They considered destroying the Tang, but the Kzin commander had a better idea. After a last evening of entertaining the Captain, she was placed back on her stripped and disabled ship. The Kzin then set and locked down the few remaining replicators so that they could only produce what was to her was inedible vegetable matter. Then the> Kzin towed the now stripped derelict back to the Federation border with the warning "Stay out of our space" scrawled over the NCC numbers on her hull.

<The Commander’s last words to Captain M’Rander were "Learn to enjoy monkey" as he abandon the ship and her two hapless passengers to their fates.> The Captain had been brutalized for days and almost crippled by her experiences. Half mad, she did indeed start to hunt Dammers and being smaller than the Kzin, she was able to wriggle into the places that Dammers had been using to hide. <Dammers only edge was that she had been so badly handled by the Kzin and she was unable to move at full speed.

Over the following weeks they played a game of cat and mouse , setting traps for each other and in the process nearly killing one another many times over.>When the Tang was finally recovered, the boarding party found both were so traumatized that they had to be stunned to be recovered. (Note: Crewman Jones is said to have recovered nicely from the several gnawing that he received from Captain M'Rander) Dammers had been badly wounded and was also suffering from lacerations where his hands had been badly bitten. The Captain was near death from starvation and had a badly wounded leg.

Captain M'Rander was awarded a medal for her years of service and valiant actions in the defense of her ship, <and quickly placed in Ceti V Psychiatric Care Hospital.>

Dammers underwent a court-martial for attacking a superior officer, but was found not guilty because of extenuating circumstances. He however was stripped of rank back to Lieutenant JG for another unfortunate incident in the Starbase medical center.

<With all the damage that Dammers had suffered, it was decided that he needed the benefit of a full body dermal regeneration. Unfortunately for him, there was a celebration of a local holiday going on at the station and most of the staff was at the party. Those who weren’t were still drinking and enjoying themselves.

He reported to the sickbay and was put into the regenerator tank and strapped down by a rather drunk nurse. She didn’t really understand the system (she was covering for a friend, who was covering for the doctor) and unfortunately she put in the wrong data card. The regenerator would not start at first, but her extremely drunk boyfriend (a maintance tech) came in. He was inpatient to spend time with her and knew how to bypass the safeties. He opened the bypass so that when she hit the start this time the regenerator started. Thinking her job done, she and went to enjoy herself with her boyfriend, unaware of the muffled screaming that was coming from the regenerator. Had she been sober enough to see it, she would have noticed the card she had inserted was for a Tholian.

They found Dammers twenty minutes later and were able to reverse the damage the runaway regenerator had done. But Dammers was too weak to undergo the process with the right card.

The next day Dammers returned to the medical section and proceeded to douse the dermal regenerator with medical alcohol and set it ablaze.

Security arrived and stopped Dammers before he was able to set fire to the doctor and nurse in a similar fashion.

<Unsure what to do with Dammers (the brig was full of people that had partied too hard the previous day, and because Dammers was considered too dangerous to leave loose on the station) the rather hungover Chief of Security had Dammers placed in a cryo tank to await a session with the counselor the next day.

The counselor looked at Dammers record when it came to his desk and decided, as he was a Caitian, that it was not in his best interest to interview him. So instead of thawing Dammers he had the cryo pod purposely misplaced in the stations storage system.>

Oddly Dammers was listed as AWOL shortly after the incident in the medical section and seemed to disappear from the Federation for over twenty years.

It's been over twenty years now and a new Commander has been assigned to the Starbase. One of her first commands was to require a full inventory of stores. The cryo pod came to the forefront of the inventory list and presented a problem for her, what to do with Dammers.

A few days later the USS Freedom limped into port, and she was forced to interview her Captain about lost crew members.

The Commander found Captain Lee fascinating, and after the interview she took him aside and invited him to her chambers.

Captain Lee thought this would be a good way to get to know the new Commander and agreed to go for a few drinks.

The Commander however had other ideas. When they got to her quarters, Captain Lee was horrified to find a huge tub of hot buttered noodles awaiting them, and Lee took to his heals when she picked up and snapped a whip at him.

The Commander was outraged at Captain Lee's response to her invitation to some harmless fun and decided to gain some revenge on the Captain, and relieve herself of a problem at the same time. She doctored Dammers official record and prepared the paperwork.

Oddly Dammers service record was recently added back to the active duty roster without any information on where he had been or what he had been doing in the intervening twenty years.

Very shortly the Freedom with receive a cryo pod with her new Chief Tactical Officer in it, courtesy of the jilted Commander.
