| TV TRIVIA | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Gilligan of Gilligan's Island had a first name that was only used once, on the never-aired pilot show. His first name was Willy. And..The skipper's real name on Gilligan's Island is Jonas Grumby. It was mentioned once in the first episode on their radio's newscast about the wreck. Sharon Stone was the first Star Search spokesmodel. That's Paul Reiser playing the piano on the 'Mad About You' theme. Donald Duck comics were banned from Finland because he doesn't wear pants. The first episode of "Joanie Loves Chachi" was the highest rated American program in the history of Korean television. By the way, "chachi" is Korean for "penis". Captain Kirk never said "Beam me up, Scotty," but he did say, "Beam me up, Mr. Scott." Gary Burgoff (Radar on MASH) always kept his left hand out of the view of the camera, either in his pocket or under a clipboard, because his left hand is deformed. |

| USELESS INFO ABOUT MONEY | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Money Slang: Fin: Slang for a five dollar bill. Derived from the Yiddish word finif which means five. Used mostly in underhanded dealings such as bribes. Maitre-de: For a fin I'll get you the best seats in the house. Not used too often nowadays. Probably because five dollars doesn't buy that much anymore. Sawbuck: Slang for a ten dollar bill. A sawbuck really is two pieces of wood put together in an X to hold up something so you can cut it with the saw. The fact that it makes an X and resembles the Roman numeral for ten is how the corrolation between the original item and the ten dollar bill came about. Double Sawbuck: Slang for a twenty dollar bill. It is two times a sawbuck... XX ...therefore the twenty. See sawbuck for the full explanation. |
