| I have had tons of interests in my life. Some come and go. Some last longer. My job currently is a Powerbuilder programmer. So I suppose I have an interest in computers. Many of the computer illiterate call my a computer geek but I do not consider myself in the elite. My most recent interest has been martial arts. Kuoshu (more commonly known as kung fu) has come in and out of my life for some time now. This time I feel it will last. It's a deeper dedication that is inspired by a friend joining me in my classes. (read more...) Games and puzzles are always of interest to me. I enjoy logic problems, riddles, advanced math problems, philosophical debate, crosswords, etc. Many times my friends find me on the yahoo games site in either the pinochle or chess rooms. Yeah I know, geek. Well as I said in the about me section, "To me, I am just me." Bartending (including extreme bartending) dominated my life for so long. I still have an interest and you can catch me flipping bottles and tins now and again. I bartended for 10 years of my life professionally. Unofficially I was prolly the only six year old who could make pina coladas. My first bartending experience was at large family functions where I would work the blender. Ultima Online is another interest. If you haven't ever played a massive multiplayer online role-playing game. You wouldn't understand. I have been trying to cut back on that addiction lately but its kinda like smoking, haven't kicked that habit yet either. Traveling is something I enjoy. Hell it used to be all I know. I was born an army brat so I have lived in numerous countries and states. Italy was my favorite station. My parents instilled in me a good appreciation for arts and culture. Somehow though I do not travel as much as I would like anymore. Guess I got caught in the same old adult trap of working and life and never having enough time or money or whatever. Oh well. There is always next year. Jimmy Buffett could be called one of my interests. Maryland winters get cold so sometimes I have to adjust my typical parrothead attire of shorts, sandals, and a hawaiian shirt by adding a hat and a scarf. If the snow gets too deep though I do have to change the sandals. Boat drinks and dreams of snake bite key keep me warm year round. Well I am off to the bar. Friday night you know. I leave you with these words from Jimmy himself: "There is so much to see, waiting in front of me, that I know that I just can't go wrong." |
