| Just Joe
Booker T, the Drifters and the Platters turned Joes ear as a kid, after being born in Long Island, NY. While Joes folks or his younger brother Bobby did not play any instruments, Joe picked up the violin while in 4th grade. Satisfied? Nooooooooo! Joe always looks for something new and he was like that in his early years. The trumpet turned him on and then explored the sax while in the 5th grade. Satisfied yet? You guessed it! Remember Mini Bikes? Joe mounted one of them. That was probably Joes first taste of motion! Wait until you see him dance. He looks like the motor is still connected. At 13, Joe got his hands on a Tisco Del Ray guitar, messed around with drums but liked that Del Ray Ax (thank goodnessya see.the drummer is writing this thing). Great Neck High School, Long Island is where Joe attended, while toying with different jobs in the fence construction business and working in the therapy field with the mentally handicapped and special needs folks. He liked cars and worked some mechanics gigs along the way. His love for motion grew into a 450 Honda motorcycle. Joe lived in Dix Hills, Long Island and his first taste of the band life kicked off with a 4 piece lot by the name of the Lead Crystals at 13. Living near the big pond, Just Joe could not help but get a boat. A 19ft 85 HP shell got Joe out on the water. On land Joe was on the move in a 63 Dodge Dart. Not too long off was the club scene. Wee Scottys nightclub was about to come into play! Meg Rosabel and Edward, Mom and Dad, lived in Long Island when Meg entered the world. Mom was a classical pianist. Rosabel passed her gift onto pupils and preformed piano recitals on air waves across radio broadcasts. Very Cool! Ya think Meg was interested? Nope! Meg wanted to be in the chorus! Well, you know what its like being a kid. Rosabel and Eddy had Meg squeeze the reed from 4th grade to 11th grade. Meg did the band thing for a while and eventually got in the chorus. Meg had a gift and love for the animal kingdom early on. Momma Blacky headed the feline clan in Megs house along with Kitty and Frisky. Snowshoe even went shopping with Meg in the mall. Imagine that..not a catand in the mall.not on the beachbut on a leachstrolled, Megs rabbit..in the mall! (Sorrya little Seuss slip). Shaggy and Lucky populated the canine family in Megs house and Babbles was the name of Megs turtle. Chuck, Megs brother, along with all the pets made for a very full house. Meg always kept busy through school and worked in a fabric store. Stocking shelves. Rosabel taught Meg to sew, when she was 9, and in 10th grade, she toyed in fabric sales, designed and made coat displays. Meg was a maker .of anything.she loved to make things. Poppa Edward planted that seed. Ya see, Poppa Eddy was a Vo-tech teacher and always brought things from class home.and Meg would tinker, take it apart and put it back together..what ever it was. I guess that is when Megs love for cars hit heavy. She hit the black top in a Ford Torino and moved up to a Buick Skylark, only to make way for the Mustang Frenzy. Yeap, finally Meg landed a 66 Mustang Convertible. For 6 months after High School, Meg worked in a Dry Cleaner, then some office work as a One Ringy Dingy. Two Ringy Dingyswitch board operator. The Fashion Institute of Technology was Meg next stop for 2 years, living at home and takin the track into New York each day. Poppa Eddy passed away and 6 months later Meg moved to Amityville, N.Y. and got an apartment on her own. Karen, Megs close friend always bugged her to go out. Finally.Meg listens. Where does she go? Ill give you one guessWee Scottys Night Club. Guess who else went there? One drink was the ice breaker and Meg drove home in her 66, top down, horse! The following Monday, Meg was late and Joe left a note. That Thursday Joe called and connected! 3 weeks laterI DO !!!!!!! The wedding was small. Just Joe in white tux tails and Meg in white, both danced to the big hit Do the Hustle for their wedding song. Their honeymoon captures their chemistry well. From the excitement at Great Adventure in Jackson New Jersey, to the natural wonders of Mt. Snow Vermont, Meg and Joe began their journey. West Islip, N.Y. was their 1st homestead for a month. Cat Kitty and dog Rocky were still hangin in and Steely Dan, Aretha and Art Garfunkel were playin on the 8 trackremember them? (8 tracks?) The land lady lets cat Kitty out (da.) and cat Kitty splits. Meg works at PADCO and Joes still looking for that life time career thing. Deer Park Cottage, N.Y. becomes their next stay and Joe lands a gig at Charmilles a Swiss EDM machine company, where he manages the warehouse. One night, while playin cards, Joe & Meg get a call that Rocky got hurt. Got him fixed up and Rocky was back in action, lovin the rides in the 66 mustang..top down ..of course! They bought a house in Deer Park, N.Y. and Joe was the property Manager for 2 buildings and 9 stores in Washington Heights Rocky loved to take car ridesand so they went northand south. (Couldnt go easttheyd get wet)and westto places like Mountain Home and Pocono Pines in 1985. They transplanted their roots in the good old Poconos, where in 1990 Rocky said good-bye to great long life. Arjay, a 9 week old Shepherd had come soon, and held the fort down in Pa. Just Joe started playing guitar again at 38 and met a fellow musician by the name of Steve at a Dulcimer shop. Jam sessions started to occur and the next thing ya know, Sunny, Frank, Steve Joe and Meg were diggin creatin music! Sometimes 2 people would show up and sometimes 20 people came. They were such gifted sessions; Joe built a small studio cottage, known as "The Hut", in the back yard. Thats where the magic takes place. There was an Ad on TV about Seeing Eye dogs and Meg zoomed in! For the next 10 years, Meg would share her gift of love with friends at the Seeing Eye in Morristown N.J., in the Pocono Guiding Pups puppy club, with families all over North Eastern Pa and New Jersey. Nelson their 1st seeing dog was followed by..are ya ready?......... ............BlakePacker..Clio.Ivy..Carly.Slugger..Baron.and Willow What a Journey! Holding down a Security systems job, Joe and Meg (now runnin all your mail for the Post Office) lived a full life and musicians started to cross their path. Some benefit gigs popped up and at Colony Village, Timothy Lakes amongst others. LTC was formed and had 6 musicians. An awesome vocal section, driven by Meg. Joe fronted the band. LTC had a great chemistry! Each member drives to listen!....share their part!......make it work!.......and the magic happens! After a few path crossings, the some members have moved on and new ones come in. There has been one constant, however . Joe & Meg..They are the glue and the core of LTCthe core of their beautiful dogs (now Carly ,Willow and Sluggerthe core reason a lot of peoples lives have been touched and loved! Talk about attraction! Musicians from all over the Tri-State area somehow visit or end up in the Poconos, and somehow talk to Joe somewhere! Come on .sit in and magic happens. At weddings, Joe will wrap his Paul Reed around a childs shoulder, give them the pick and let them strike the chords to Knockin on Heavens door. The band is playing behind them and for those few minutes.believe me they are in heaven! Meg has people turning their heads to find out who is singing that song! Ya see she likes the back of the stage, back with the rhythm section and ya dont hear the drummer complaining! People have to find her whehthey hear her voice fill the room with Smoke.and I aint talkin bout burnages! You have to experience it for yourself! LTC is not just a Band, they are three vessels, who have be given the gift of music and pass it on to everyone they meet in hope the end result.is a SMILE! We call ourselvesLTC the bandThe experience is really LTC the blessing. |
