| Gamma Theta Chapter History In the Summer of 2001 Melissa Licona, and Raquel Ramos realized that there was not a Greek organization at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi that represented the needs of the universal woman. After researching numerous Latina sororities there was only one that had the qualifications that they were looking for, Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Incorporated. By the fall of 2001 an interest group was formed and the journey to sisterhood began. As an interest group they participated in numerous events such as Campus Activites Board Halloween Carnival, Career Fairs, Fundraisers, and Toys for Tots. Despite numerous obstacles that these interests had endured four outstanding women remained: Raquel Ramos, Jessette Aleman, Melissa Licona, and Josephine Corpus. There strong dedication and determination that those Ladies possesed paid off and by the Spring of 2002 these women became the Founding Sisters of the Gamma Theta Chapter at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. With the establishment of this chapter, Gamma Theta became the fifth chapter of Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Incorporated in the State of Texas. The Gamma Theta Chapter of Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc. at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi strives to effectively and positively promote Lambda Theta Alpha by participating in annual events such as Island Day's, Homecoming, and Greek Week. The Lovely Lambda Ladies will always continue to live by the principles of: UNITY, LOVE, and RESPECT |
