Since Fall 1990, the Sisters of Fairleigh Dickinson University and Caldwell College have prided themselves on upholding the ideals and goals of not only the Founding Mothers of Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc., but also the Founding Sisters of Eta Chapter, who have paved the way for the many ladies that would follow. As Sisters of Lambda Theta Alpha, Eta makes it their goal to *support the community and encourage academic achievements*. The following are a few of the community services that Eta has participated in the past: AIDS Walk, Christmas Toy Drive for children with Cancer and Blood Diseases, Thanksgiving Food Drive, MS Walk, women health packets for "Women Herstory Month", blood drives, NY cares Day, voting registration, clothes drives for the homeless, Latin Heritage Month, Habitat for Humanity of Hackensack, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, World AIDS Day, distribute condoms with the FDU Wellness Center for Valentine's Day, sponsored a Basketball game for a little girl with cancer, co-sponsored a Sexual Harrassment workshop, and a Candlelight Vigil for Rape Awareness on-campus. The following are future events we have planned: Blanket Drive~ "A Fairleigh Warmer Winter", FDU Cleanup on Earth Day, support Black History Month, women info booth for Women's Herstory Month, Forum: "Pregnancy in College", Forum: "Sororities: How do they affect women in college?", Forum: "A Woman's Success", Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc.'s -FDU Women Day Luncheon, distribute blue ribbons to promote Child Abuse Awareness Month, donate all blue ribbon donations to the NJ Chapter of the Child Abouse Prevention Association, Forum: "Child Abuse: Changing Lives & Giving Hope", distribute "Appreciation Easter Eggs" to FDU Staff and Administration and collect $$ for the earthquake in El Salvador. Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc.'s ~ Eta Chapter has received much recognition through awards, for its dedication to the FDU Community as well as the community as a whole.
