Inter-School Humorous Speech Contest 2000
(Theme - Happy, Healthy Miri Resort City)

Venue: Dewan Usun Apau, Holiday Inn Miri
 

Organised in collaboration with Lions Club of Miri Central and Lions Club of Miri Mandarin, sponsored by Harpers Trading (M) Sdn Bhd for Vico drinks and Holiday Inn Miri for Challenge Trophy.  Forteen secondary schools in Miri were invited to participate by sending one participant.  A total of ten contestants were registered.  The event was officially opened by Guest of Honour Y.B. Datuk Peter Chin Fah Kui, Deputy Minister of Housing and Local Government Malaysia.  Some 300 audience including students, teachers, members of Lions Club attended the event in Dewan Usun Apau of Holiday Inn Miri.  Each contestants received a sourvenier and a certificate of participation while the 2nd and 1st runner up received a trophy in addition.  The champion received a champion trophy and a challenge trophy.  The challenge trophy is to be returned upon notified shortly prior to the next contest begins.  Congratulation to the trophies receipants.
