ANIME

This is the Anime Section. A Brief overview of each series that I enjoy is all I plan on posting right now. However, I'm leaving room (not like I can really fill up geocities...) for future additions, including detailed summaries, if I get really bored. And now, without further ado, the Anime.

Tenchi Muyo!
Wow. Who would have guessed it. The Newest addition to this list, and currently my favorite. The thre anime Series, and three Movies revolve around Tenchi, and all the girls that surround him for the series. And the bad guys. Like.. KAGATO!!! My current favorite. See the Villain page... when I get it up. The series has ALOT of humor, and ALOT of cool.. stuff. I dunno.. Drama, romance, humor... everything a good show needs, it has. Plus it's very colorful. Not dark like lain, or goofy, like DBZ, but perfect. A definate 10 out of 10 in my books.
SEASONAL SUMMARY
Tenchi Muyo! Is the first Season. And, in my view, the bese, even though it's the shortest. However, I haven't seen all of Tenchi Universe, so this is subject to change. 13 episodes long, and two extras.
Tenchi in Tokyo is the second Season. Much more serious (for Tenchi it is, anyways..) than the other two, there is one main bad guy throughout the entire season, and there is little on how the gang meets, compared to the other two seasons. Watch this one just to understand the dynamics of the Tenchiverse.
Tenchi Universe is the third Season. I'm watching it currently on Toonami, and even though it's more than half way done, It's still not over. I'm looking forward to seing Kagato again, and if he's as cool as he was in Tenchi Muyo!, This season'll will take the "best season" award from TM.

The Slayers
My first True Anime. Actually.. second... but that'll be explained later. The Slayers follows Lina Inverse, and her gang of friends through a world of magic and.. woah.. that sounded like some back-of-the-vhs-box explanation. Lets just say that It's a great series, with cute filler episodes, dynamic characters, memorable villains, and it's share of humor, drama, suspense, and even, to a point, horror. The Music is excelent, and dubbing is pretty good, though my favorite character is torn to shreds vocally by an able-bodied, but terribly stupid David Moo. Ahh well.
SEASONAL SUMMARY
Slayers TV is the season that started it all. Lina, Gourry, Zel, Amelia... No Xelloss though. It also features cool bad guys. A bit darker than the other two series, but well done, it paves the way for the next two seasons and entertains you on the way.
Slayers Next is the season I first saw, at least, the first bit, and I loved it. Xelloss makes his first appearance here, and, even with a crappy voice actor, manages to steal a bit of the show when ever he's around. Lina and the gang are back to face even more bad guys, that, even though less powerful as the first one in TV, seem to do worse to her and her friends in a shorter amount of time.
Slayers Try is the third, and final season of the Slayers saga. Filia is introduced, the yin to Xelloss' yang, and there is much more humor in this season than in TV, or Next, though the bad guy is a little weak (in my opinion) and the story gets repetative. I haven't finished this season, due to the repetative-ness of the season, and the lack of will to buy the rest, and so I cant make a truly accurate judgement. However, I can say this: The bad guy is weaker than Xelloss, but manages to stay alive the whole season... I think the creators should have done the bad guys in the opposide direction... because each one is weaker than the one in teh season before it. Oh well.

Outlaw Star
Yes.. a late addition. Outlaw Star is a.. well. it's not as well known as most other Anime Series, but it's still awesome. I watched the whole thing on toonami, and an currently considering shelling out the bucks for the un-edited DVD to compare.. however, eneve edited as it was by CN, It was STILL good.. It's a little unrealistic.. but hey, is magic realistic, either? Hm. Didn't think so. Overall, Outlaw Star wills lots of points for being extremely cool... It's about Gene Starwind, and Jim Hawking, and their transformation from outlaw bounty hunters to... .. umm.. outlaw bounty hunters. I guess.. but it's still cool. Lots of dynamic Characters.. and some great scenes. And stuff. Watch this on Toonami, before they drop it.. which they might, since it's a relatively short series. Also, no Seasons but the main one, so no Summary here, either.

Pokemon!
Pocket Monsters. Yes, I'm 19. Yes, I watch Pokemon. So Sue Me. Pokemon is about Ash Ketchum and his goal to achieve the coveted title of Pokemon master. Along with Misty, Brock, Pikachu, and all his pokemon (including pikachu) Ash travels from town to town to collect badges to compete in the ultimate pokemon tournament. It's a bit childish, yes, but there are times when being able to watch a show and not have to think too hard to get anything is really nice after a college class or two. Besides... Lots of people like Scooby Doo.. and I HATE that STUPID STUPID STUPID show!!! So if you can watch your asinine dog and his stereotypical friends deal witht the same frikkin problem over and over, and be scared, even though EVERY FRIKKIN TIME it's a person.. I can watch a kid catch imaginary (but cool-ly drawn) creatures, and make them fight.
SEASON SUMMARY
Season One is about the first league, K... something. Anyways... It's the one you play in Yellow, Red, and Blue. 151 Pokemon, 8 gyms... and Lots of cool stuff here and there.
Season Two is about the Jhoto League.. the game you play in Gold and Silver. The first half of Gold and Silver. And maybe Crystal, and Green. I'm not sure yet. ANyways... 251 pokemon now, and 8 new gyms. Season Three Is... Yes.. It's a continuation of the Jhoto league, so I guess Ash never made it to the end by season two's finale. I'd know, but it plays sequentially on saturdays, and I like to sleep in.

DragonBall Z
DragonBall Z is the series after DragonBall, and before DragonBall GT... It's a fighting anime for preteen boys that amuses me to no end. The characters are dynamic, the series is colorful (almost overly at times) and The creators manage to make every fight a different enough to be fun to watch. I could go on and on about this series, BUT.. everyone knows about DragonBall Z, so I'm not. If you don't watch it, well.. It's your call. you either like it or you hate it.
SEASON SUMMARY
umm... I'll just list the (major) Sagas: The Sayan Saga, the Frieza Saga, The Android/Cell Saga, The Buu Saga. There.... each one is a season to Toonami and Funimation, but it's all one really long show, really.. The Cell Saga is my favorite, by far, Just because Cell is great. At least, in his perfect form. I though he was a sniveling, minor character in his two crapified states. But, once he became perfect, and I saw just how cool he was.. well.. I thought he was cool. Anyways...

Hand Maid May
Sugoi!! A new one! This is a short (VERY SHORT) one season series that's really cute. It's about a company, and little dolls.. and life-sized dolls.. and.. you know... as much as I want to describe it, I can't, because it's really hard. Basically, though, the main character is Satome, and he's a computer nerdy kinda guy... anyways... and May, the small doll that he gets after a weird Virus (written by his "friend" screws his computer up, and orders her from Cyberdyne, the doll making company.
SEASON SUMMARY
Well.. as I said. One season.. meaning.. no summary. NEXT!

Ranma 1/2
Yes!!! Ranma!! YAY This series is totally awesome... and I've only seen, like, half of it, as far as I can tell. Maybe a little more. Ranma is mainly about Ranma Soutome, a guy who is cursed to change into a girl whenever splashed with cold water. fortunately, he turns back into a guy when splashed with hot water. (You know how annoying not knowing that is? I always thought he had to avoid cold water like the plague, or something. Thanks, jerks. All you summarry writers should DIE! >.<) anyways.. he has ALOT of Fiances (a problem I'm sure every other person on earth would live, considering alot of the girls' looks) and basically, his slow growth from hating Akane Tendo to Loving her. Akane is his first Fiancee, and the one that he would choose over all the others, if given a choice. (Actually.. he'd be subtle, and never come out and say it.. but we all know he would choose her. ^_^) Anyways.. Check my "Similar" page to see a new Ranma charrie there.
SEASON SUMMARY
Oh.. dear god.
Season 1: Ranma and the main gang is introduced.
Season 2: Ranma meets more people.
Season 3: Ranma does some stuff.
Season 4: Ranma learns some more things.
Season 5:... anyone ELSE seeing a pattern here? The story line is there, but un-summarize-able. There are a few multi-episode-spanning problems.. but nothing that can define a season. This is a LONG anime, and it does a damn good job of making sure you have fun watching each episode. The episodes are mostly linear in some way, meaning you wont understand what they're talking about if you skip ahead, but it's still not seasonal, really. Just.. go buy it, or something.

Fushigi Yuugi
Yay! This one is another one of my firsts, and I enjoyed it so much that when I realized it was over, I wanted to cry.... ALRIGHT... so I did let a couple tears go. It's a GREAT series, and even though I would put off watching it, every time I did finally see it, I kicked myself for taking my time, cuz it's just so cool. It's about Miaka Yuki, and her friend, Yui Hongo and a book. Honestly. They get sucked in, become priestesses to different gods, get into fights, summon the gods, get wishes granted, fight in Tokyo... WOW. It was so cool, it was scary. Lots of great characters. Yes! Watch it! NOW!!!!
SEASON SUMMARY
Season one is about getting Miaka to summon Suzaku. It's long, all the characters are introduced.. at least, for Miaka's side, and It has lots of humor and drama. Very good season.
Season Two is about the gathering of the... THINGS... of the other two priestesses (No I will NOT go into it.) to summon the god after bad stuff happens. Much darker a season, more adult-like problems.. Really.. watching this makes me wonder, is it the exposure to such problems the reason Japanese are so much more serious? Maybe we let our kids be kids too long here in America. Or maybe.. it's because stupid parets bitch about the word "stupid" on a cartoon because it desensitizes their kids, and makes teenagers shoot up schools. Oh well. NEXT ANIME

Lost Universe
Lost Universe is rather new to me, but it's by the creator of The Slayers... as you can tell by watching just one episode. There is a long story about the universe, and worlds, and stuff, that connects Slayers and LU, but I dont really think you want to know. If you do... use a search engine to find out. Kane Blueriver, a Trouble Contractor, Does anything he signs a contract to do.. and his partner, Canal, and.. semi-partner, Millie (short for Millenium.. weird name, huh?) go through space.. and do stuff. I have 12 episodes.. and it's just beginning to scratch the whole.. bad guy development. if I can get more, I'll write more.. all I can say is, LU is funny, and Cool.. and you should watch it if you like slayers, cuz, it ISN'T Slayers in Space. All you people who say it is are stupid... and read too many summaries. Summaries are biased, and give everything away without letting you see all the little things that happen, and if you saw it, you'd realize that the summaries describe something.. but not LU. There's only one Season... so no Summary. Go figure.
