Well I have to admit that I am a bit of an X-men fan, but even so this is just a great film. Unlike the first, which seemed as much about introducing the characters as anything else, X2 has a much meatier storyline. The film is a great one for everyone, the characters are fantastic (Hugh Jackman as Wolverine has got to be loved) and the special effects really rather good (they clearly had more money to spend on them than in the first film). But anyway, I guess quite a few people have already seen the film so enough about that, onto the extras. I got the 2-disc edition because Im sad like that, and wanted to have the extras, which arent half bad. Theres an interview with various Marvel people about the origin of the comic and how it has developed, as well as an hours worth of material about the making of the two films, including snippets from the actors. There are also some deleted scenes form the movie, admittingly some of them are just extended versions of scenes in the film, and its a little hard to spot whats different, but others are nice little bits, especially for X-men fans. Both the single edition and 2-disc edition have audio commentaries by the director (Brian Singer) and other random people from the production, but the single edition doesnt have any of the production extras, or the origin of the X-men feature. For more info, I suggest you check Amazon (where they even have an X-men buying guide). |
