Generally Im not good in horror films of any description but this one isnt bad at all because of the comedy element. You know its not going to be too bad. Well thats what I thought until someone gets eaten alive right in front of you (though I didnt throw-up Im proud to say). Amusing. Entertaining. Kinda disgusting at points. This was a good film that kept me laughing (far too loudly at some points) and didnt really have any morals or messages that werent without a joke attached (except the part with Shauns mother). It is really just there for fun and not for winning awards, though some of the tongue in cheek social comments do have some kind of message about how people live their lives. (Horrible sentence there do apologise). The story is that of Shaun and his friends, his girlfriend who breaks up with him, and a virus (I think they said virus) that makes dead bodies return to life and become, well, zombies (though they dont like using the Z word in the film). Shaun and Co try to stay alive in their local after they manage to get there through the flesh-eating hoards. In creating a new genre, the rom-zom-com (or rearrange as appropriate) the writers have done themselves proud. Simon Pegg is great and there just seems to be something fundamentally right in the London setting too. British humour to a T.

Shaun of the Dead is a classic British comedy. Shaun (Simon Pegg) battles zombies in an attempt to save his friends and get his girlfriend back. Initially when you see the trailer, you may believe it is a hilarious comedy that is comprised of blood and gore, it is so much more, it leaves you falling about with laughter and the superb acting contributes to the humor of the film. The only fault I could find was a minor one, it was a bit slow to get it in the beginning however once the zombies came out you were gripped. I recommend you see this film if you enjoy classic British comedy and good humor and also if you are a fan of Black Books I have to tell you that Bernard (Dylan Moran) is in it, jump up and down with excitement.
