Before the film hit the screens, everyone knew it would be a sure hit with a cast including Liam Neeson, Bill Nighy, Alan Rickman, Emma Thomson, Colin Firth, Kiera Knightley, Martine McCutcheon (hilarious when meeting the Prime Minister for the first time) and of course Hugh Grant (as Britains prime minister!). The acting is of course fantastic as is the story about nine different situations all about love. The film would have been better if there were less stories and more depth to the main characters. Special praise has to be given to Colin Firth for his hilarious attempt to speak Portuguese, Hugh Grant dancing in Downing Street and Bill Nighy for giving the best advice to teenagers!
Love Actually is a great movie to get you into the Christmas spirit, it is funny, sweet and above all.British. You also walk out of the cinema wanting to do what they all do in the movie, go and tell that special someone you love them, after all its Christmas and its the season of telling the truth!
Look out for many cameos by various stars and references to Curtis earlier work. A brilliant film!

Love Actually is a Romantic comedy starring Hugh Grant, Emma Thompson, Colin Firth, Liam Neeson, Alan Rickman, Laura Linney, Keira Knightley, Bill Nighy and Martine McCutcheon. It is about eight different couples who are trying to cope with their love situations. It is set in London, England in the exciting weeks coming up to Christmas.
The film includes a Prime Minister (Hugh Grant) and his assistant (Martine McCutcheon) falling for each other as soon as they meet. It also includes the hilarious Colin Frissell (Kris Marshall) who thinks that if he goes to America he can get more girls to like him. Even the young ones are falling in love, with a 11 year old boy called Sam (Thomas Sangster) who thinks he is in love with the most popular girl in school Joanna (Olivia Olson) and tries to win her heart over (bless his heart)
It is a great film and just like Bridget Jones Diary it had a lot of smiles and laughs. It is jam-packed with various love scenarios but at heart they all represent the problems falling of love. The excellent acting and intriguing plot keeps you enthralled throughout the whole film. The main humour generally comes from Mack (Bill Nighy) who does of cover of 'Love Is All Around' to 'Christmas Is All Around' and the Prime Minster (Hugh Grant) dancing around number 10. Love Actually like every film has some faults. One is you do not get into the characters as much because there are so many different love stories. The characters only have a few moments to determine their character. Despite this it is humours and warming film, which puts you in that Christmas felling. The film emphasised and at heart shows us that 'Love actually is all around us'.
