This film is probably the most touching film that I have seen in a while and I promise you that it will do the same to you if you watch it. It is a story of real life and that is what touches your heart. Set in the time Spain was just going into the civil war this story of friendship, family and realisation unfolds. Moncho is a young boy who is starting school and is frightened at the thought of the teacher beating him, to his delight the teacher is a nice old man Don Gregorio who he develops a close bound with. During the year Moncho learns about new things, including the ways of love with his friend Roque and with his brother he learns the art of music. But this tale is brought to a short end as the republic has come under attack from fascist rebels. The beginning of the civil war begins and this will end up splitting neighbours and families and this is what will stay with you when you see this film. I enjoyed this film so much and will have to give it the top marks. But I warn you have the tissues ready as you will need them.
