| The only problem with Al Pacino is that all of his greater hits such as The Godfather and Scarface manage to eclipse some of his other work. When I came across Glengarry Glen Ross and after having watched it, I realised that this is one of Al Pacinos hidden gems. Not only did he pick up an Oscar nod for his role as Ricky Roma, he is THE man in the film and manages to steal every scene he is in. Of course, my opinion is biased as I am huge fan of Pacino but his smooth, fast talking insults, opinions and lessons are wonderful. That is not to say that Jack Lemon, Alec Baldwin, Ed Harris and Kevin Spacey did not give great performances, in fact, individually they all were fantastic but Al Pacino is the main attraction for me. Even when I realised I wasnt interested in the film at all, it was the work of these great actors that kept me watching. Along with the acting, it was the dialogue that kept the film going; funny, quick, sad, slow, lies, truth and wit all in one, which was delivered fine by the cast. | ||
