| Michael Manns film since the poorly received Ali shows his fans he is back in form. The ususal Mann traits are evident; Good versus bad, the chosen city (LA) acting as a character and minimal shooting in daylight. Michael Mann manages to seduce the audience with shots of LA by night and always manages to pull the viewer in at the right moment (even though there are many slow dialogues through the film). Tom Cruise is believable as a criminal although his actions towards the end of the film started to remind me of the Terminator worryingly. Jamie Foxx is brilliant as the taxi driver who must aid Cruise through a night of killing, and he does provide all the laughs for the audience. | ||
