| I personally would give this film 5 stars, but I am aware that other people dont quite have my tastes, so its not so fundamental that you go and see it. I have been a fan of Tim Burton films for quite a while (though I havent seen Planet of the Apes and perhaps shouldnt judging by how it was received) and I can happily say that Big Fish did not disappoint. It is surreal, funny, moving and a highly enjoyable bit of fun that is accessible to people of, I would say, most age groups. Albert Finney is wonderful as the dying Edward Bloom; a character that has always told stories and does so until the end. The relationship he has with his estranged son, Will Bloom, played by Billy Crudup is sensitive and, especially at the end, youre left with a feeling of rightness about the whole thing. The film is bizarre, from the town of Spectre where they try to stop you leaving by stealing your shoes, to Danny DeVitos werewolf circus ringmaster. This is a lighthearted film that is simply fun to watch. | ||
