| Bellreguard is situated in the area of La Safor next to the regional centre of Gandia. This city of 65,000 doubles its population during the summer and this is the main holiday destination for the people of Madrid. Gandia is also where you'd arrive by train. Of course most would choose to fly into the airport of Valencia (less than an hour drive) or Alicante (a little bit more than an hour) both of which is served by many regular and low-cost airlines (Air Europa, Air France, Air Nostrum, Alitalia, Easyjet, Iberia, Ryanair, Spanair, Swiss, Virgin Express and many more). Both of these airports are served by many car hire companies, such as Centauro, Europa Rent a Car, Avis, Europcar or Hertz. You can get a basic model for less than 150 Euros a week. Valencia, a booming city of 800,000 is less than an hour drive away. You could spend a day sightseeing or enjoying Spanish style shopping. Valencia is the home of the Ciudad de las Artes y de las Ciencias, the football club Valencia CF, and the proud host of Americas Cup 2007. The bustling city of Alicante is also close-by. Its boulevards are sided by palm trees and it is a true tourist delight. One of Europe's most popular travel destinations, Benidorm, would only take you a bit over half an hour to get to. This city is full of discos and family entertainment such as Terra Mitica, Terra Natura, Aqualandia and Mundomar. The area of Costa Azahar and Costa Blance is full of resort towns. Oliva, Denia, Javea, Altea and Grau are full of life, you can find everything from 'blue flag' beaches to vast orange groves, from Spanish tapas to English breakfast and German sausages. Fiestas are abound, from Las Fallas in Valencia city to the Moros y Cristianos celebrations which every little municipality seems to hold. If you add the Valencianos love of fireworks you will not have a dull moment!!! |
