That there is the Copper Country.  If you haven't been, come up some time.  It's some of the most beautiful country you'll find, just about any time of the year.  For those of us who live there (at least most of the year), a great passtime is "Copper Country Cruisin'."  Here's some pictures of a few places I've been recently, and I'll change it in the fall when I go back and do more exploring.
This is the famous (although I'm not so sure why) Houghton-Hancock lift bridge.  I've only seen it go up once in two years, and I got a picture of the boat that went under.  Funny story, about three hours later it came back under, backwards.  The Portage is too narrow and curvy for it to get through the other end.
These falls are on the East side of M-26, North of Eagle River, by the Jampot.  It's usually just a trickle, but we had a lot of rain before we went out this time.
Eagle River Falls, way above flood stage.  I hear they haven't been this high in over 10 years.
Sunset over The Big Lake (Superior).
The view from my favorite place; one of the reasons it's my favorite place.
These guys are not hard to find in the Keweenaw.  Luckily this one was just standing on top of Mt. Brockway, not jumping in front of the car as they have a tendency to do.
Enough of the Copper Country already!
