Homecoming weekend (October 6-8, 2000) this past year, mom and I went for a camping adventure.  We met in Newberry, which is a little to the East of the middle of the UP.  We stayed in that cute little cabin and did a lot of hiking around Tacquamenon Falls.  It was an awesome girls' weekend.  Here's a little of what we did and saw.
Mommy sittin' round the campfire.  Isn't she cute?
Mom and I posing in front of our little cabin, all geared up for a good hike.
We just thought the Jaguar in front of the log cabin was funny.  That and the snow on the car, it was the first weekend in October.
Yeah, mom took a picture of me taking a picture of Upper Tacquamenon Falls.
The fruits of our labor, what we went to see.  Above, the left side of the lower falls.  Below, the right side of the lower falls, from a little closer.  Above right, the upper falls from a distance, can you see the little people?  And below right, the gorgeous colors we found hiking through the woods around the falls.
That there is the view of Lake Superior off of Whitefish Point.  That was a side trip.  See the waves?  It was really windy and cold.
