The Donut Munchers - 2001 - Acrylic on canvas
The subject for this painting was America. Therefore I wanted to create American stereotypes such as the badly dressed tourist, the grungers, the jocks and the black rappers. In the background I wanted to create a scene of typical America - the stereotypical skyscrapers - but this was simplified so as not to draw attention away from the figures in front. Also seen in the background are all-American brand names that everyone recognises - McDonald's, Coca-Cola and Levi's. |
