Well the Quilt Show is
getting closer and Boutique items are still coming in and more is better.
I would like to extend my deepest appreciation to all of you that have
contributed so generously with both your time and donations to both the
Boutique and Auction. If you have items, but they won't be ready until
after the Guild meeting, you may drop them off at my house any time between
then and the Quilt Show. I would like time to price them however.
Signature blocks will be turned in at the August meeting and a complete set
will be returned to you at the September meeting.
I would like to take a few minutes to ask each of you to please say “yes”, when Pat Pillard
calls on you to help with the Quilt Show. I know that you know it takes
full participation of the membership to make our show a success. Many
people have worked very hard to lay the ground work for the show, and now they
need our help to make it a reality. Thanks again for all that you have
done this year.

WINDOWS AT WEST SIDE PLAZA
RESTAURANT – It is worth your
time to stop a minute and enjoy the quilt display at West Side Plaza Restaurant
in downtown Sulphur Springs! This month
the spotlight is on Elaine Sprague, and daughter, Roberta Vanderburg. All three windows are filled with their
work…a nice variety of big quilts, wall hangings, and table covers….even
4-year-old Kendra Vanderburg’s jacket! Be sure to tell them how much you appreciate
their work. At the last of August, the
windows will be changed to showcase all of our Quilt Show auction quilts…what a
great place to advertise and show them off!
The Quilt Show can be promoted at the same time, so be sure to invite
your friends to enjoy the display.
SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT AUGUST MEETING: The Hopkins County Commissioners and County Judge have been invited to attend the August 25th meeting to view our Auction quilts and to hear an overview of the Guild's activities and community services. As of the newsletter deadline date, we are not sure if they will be able to join us for refreshments and this short segment of our meeting. .............
