History
Lambda Sigma Gamma was founded in 1986 at California State University Sacramento.  LSG was founded by 27 women who were seeking to make university life less lonesome and more supportive. They were all women who are proud of their heritage, cultural backgrounds, and most importantly, they are proud of being women. The desire for self-improvement, scholastic excellence, and the cultivation of a lifelong sisterhood were the goals that brought these 27 women together to form our sorority.  We currently have 20 chapters at different universities through our California.

The Theta Chapter founding mothers had similar goals and desires when they founded Theta chapter on March 27, 1993. They were seven women who were looking for a new family at Sonoma State University. Even though they were already friends LSG helped them expand their friendship into a lifelong sisterhood. Through out our eleven years at Sonoma State, we the theta chapter sisters have kept the goals of our founding mothers ALIVE.
